MR. AND MRS. DuWayne Klein, who won a trip to the Bahamas, stopped enroute home at St. Petersberg, Fla., to see Mrs. Klein's mother, Mrs. Nettie Haag, who is spending the winter there with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Thissen. MR. AND MRS. Robert Haag are parents of their first child, a son, born Jan. 19 and has been named Scott Douglas. MR. AND MRS. Ralph Johnson are parents of a son born Feb. 5. He has been named Todd Michael. There is another child in the family, a son Mark. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are tenants on the Hugh Black farm. WILLIAM WENDT will be well- remembered here and was an engineer a part of the time while the high school building was under construction. He died last December at Hialeah, Fla. THE LATE MRS. Kathryn McMurray left $5,000 to the Presbyterian church of which she was a member and specified it was to be applied to the principal of the church building indebtedness. LATEST WORD from Mrs. Mabel Livingston, Apache Junction , Ariz., is that she will be released from the Phoenix hospital and permitted to spend the weekend in her home. It was believed she has completely recovered from her recent nerve ailment and this weekend release is a sort of test. MR. AND MRS. H. M. Knecht and daughters Inez and Cheryl were at Iowa City last week and were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jenn. Inez, who is employed at Oakland, Calif., is spending a couple of weeks here with her parents. MR. AND MRS. Alvln Kramer and family were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Schiltz at Bancroft. ALBERT FISH, who has served in Viet Nam, is home on a furlough and has Joined his wife here. She is the former Diane Kuhlmann. They will be leaving for San Diego, Calif, where he will be stationed for eight months. Diane has been employed in the Iowa State Bank. He can be here till March 12 and he and his wife will drive to San Diego. MRS. WALTER LIGHTER was visited from Thursday till Monday by Bridget Gaffney of Clear Lake. She had also visited at Whittemore with MetaDunphy. Mrs. Lichter, Bridget and Meta were nurses working together Tuesday, Feb. 21, 1967 Algona (la.) Upper Des Moines—3 at one time. Bridget is now companion in a private home at Clear Lake and was taken back there by Mrs. Lichter and Meta. MR. AND MRS. Jerry Lewis were visited Sunday by their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Huge, Ft. Dodge. MR. AND MRS. L. E. Linnan are being visited by their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. *nd Mrs. Brian Linnan, Omaha, and their son-in-law and daugh :, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Elbert, Jr., Fayetteville, N. C. The Brian Linnans will also spend some time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Navoichick. Brian is on a week's vacation. JACQUELINE LIMBAUGH, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Llmbaugh, spent last weekend with her parents. She is a student at the Baptist Bible school at Omaha, Neb. MRS. GUSTA PATTERSON entered St. Ann hospital Tuesday for treatment of a bad cold and throat ailment. MR. AND MRS. Alden McAdams have been at Farmington, N. M., where they visited the former's son Kenneth and family. H-XI CHAPTER met Feb. 7 at the home of Be mice Cook, with fourteen members present. Irene Kollasch presided at the meeting. The evening was spent with the group addressing envelopes for the Easter Seal drive. Both groups of Beta Sigma Phi will sponsor a show on April 1 at the local theater. The next meeting will be Feb. 21 at the home of Pat McGlnnis. ARDEEN SAMPSON, senior regent of the Women of the Moose for 1965-66, has been invited to attend a special meeting at Ottumwa to be capped for the green beanie, after receiving the Award of Achievement for the local chapter.
