4: Carroll (Iowa) Times Herald, Saturday, Nov. 26, 1949 DeMolay Boys, Rainbow Girls, Denison Guests Eight members of Hugh de Payen chapter, DeMolay, attended the Northwest district conclave of the order at Denison yesterday. Allday sessions were held in the Masonic temple. Degree work was presented in the morning. Officers, elected during the afternoon's business meeting, were installed after the evening banquet.

A dance rounded out the day's program. Carroll boys attending were: Glenn Lockhart, Danny Seaton, Wade Raridon, Arthur Neu, John McClintock, Dwight Nagel, Dick Hudson and Dale Van Pelt. They were accompanied by Dr. and Mrs. John E.

Martin and Mr. and Mrs. C. Lockhart. Carroll Rainbow Girls were guests at some of the functions, including a noon luncheon, to which Rainbow Girls from 29 chapters had been invited.

Carroll guests included: Jane Smith, Jacquie Tucker, Beverly Peterson, Beverly Short, Donna Lee McCoy, Patty Ellis, Joan Jackley, Bernalee Morrison, Mar iene Kennetl and Marihelen Fister, ill of Carroll, and Carol Andersen of Glidden, and Mrs. W. E. Bates, mother adviser of the Carroll assembly. Some of the girls stayed for the dance.

Rebekah Lodge Drapes Charter For State Officer The charter was draped for the late Mrs. Gussie Merriam of Des Moines, president of the Iowa Rebekah Assembly, at a regular meeting of Central Rebekah lodge in the Odd Fellows hall last night. Taking part in a candlelight service were Mrs.

O. W. Spiller and Misses Doris Benn, Ada Clements and Beulah Callaway. Lighted candles stood at ear-h side of the open Bible on the altar. Miss Clements real a eulogy and Mrs.

W. J. Forrest sang "The Lord's Prayer" accompanied by Mrs. C. W.

Nicoll. During the social hour, lunch was served by Mrs. J. T. Simpson, Mrs.

B. W. Fisk and Mrs. John Hesslin'gh. The taperlit table was decorated with a centerpiece of fruit on a mirror plaque, surrounded by miniature turkeys.

Betty Hignett of Los Angeles, who is vacationing at the home of her- parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hignett, was an out- of-town guest. At the next meeting Friday night, December 9, the lunch committee will consist of Mrs. Nicoll, Mrs.

Mrs. II. R. Grant, and son, Roger, of Albia, who came here for a holiday visit with Mrs. Grant 's sister, Mias Eleanor Dinsmore, are returning home tomorrow.

Kathy Vanderloo Has Party Celebrating Her Second Birthday Mrs. Eddie Vanderloo gave a children's party at home yesterday afternoon for her daughter, Kathy, who celebrated her second birthday.

Guests were neighborhood playmates, Shirley Groth, Margie and Roger Ranniger, Lyle Stuhr, Jeanette Subbert and Linda Moorman. Kathy's sister, Linda, was also in the group. The youngsters played games and listened to records before lunch was served at a table centered with a birthday cake. The cake had been made and decorated by Kathy's grandmother, Mrs. Ar nold Witt.

The children sang the "Birthday i Song" to Kathy and presented her with gifts. Kathy's grandparents, Mr. and I Mrs. Witt and Mr. and Mrs.

and Mrs. Cyril Wessling gave a turkey dinner at their home Thursday. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Roy Comes and son.

Bob, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Comes and daughter, Bonnie, Mrs. Hannah Comes, the host and hostess and daughter, Cylene. Milton Kohorst, brother of the bridegroom was best man.

Ushers were James Fox, of Templeton, and Roy Roszak of Chicago. The bride, attended by her sister, Henrietta Mary Kowalski, wore a candlelight velvet princess- style gown, trimmed with Venetian lace applique, and a fingertip French illusion veil. She carried a mother-of-pearl prayerbook adorned with calla and amazon lilies and trailing stephanotis. The bridesmaid wore a gold velvet gown of medieval pattern and carried chrysanthemums. The Rev.

Joseph Schultes, of Bancroft, uncle of the bridegroom, officiated. The organ was played by the Rev. F. Anrdyaszkiewicz. Mrs.

Eulalia Paczkowski was soloist. The ceremony took place at St. Adalberts church, a replica of St. Paul's of Rome. The occasion was made more memorable because it was the third generation married in the same parish.

The marble altars were decorated with white pompons and large mums. The newlyweds are both employed by the federal government. The bridegroom is also completing his course in public relations at Northwestern university. The bride is an alumna of Loyola university. A reception was held at th" penthouse of the Morrison hotel, Chicago.

Sixty-five guests were entertained at a 1 o'clock dinner. Large bowls of white pompons centered the U-shaped tables, which were also decorated with autumn leaves. Each guest was given a white rosebud as a favor. The bride's mother wore a plum- colored dress with black accessories. The bridegroom's mother was attired in teal blue faille.

Each i had a white orchid corsage. Mr. and Mrs. Kohorst are taking a southern wedding trip. Guests from Iowa were the i bridegroom's mother, Mrs.
