ARIZONA REPUBLIC Judith "Judy" Lindheimer, 63, of Phoenix, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2003. The daughter of Joseph (the late Helen) and Roz Tarnoff is also survived by her husband, Lionel and her children, Debbie Horvitz (Don) and Caryn Horvitz-StraDignity uss (Paul). She is the sister of Michael (Eileen) Tarnoff, and Merle (Howard) Simon. She owned and operated Total Travel Services in Phoenix. They will be sitting Shiva at her home through Friday, March 28.

Contributions may go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 2990 E. Northern Ste. 100, Kathryn G. Magill, 79, passed away Friday, March 21, 2003. Katie was born in Mississippi and came "to Arizona with her family at age 9.

She graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1942 and mar- that same year. They were together until Dignity his passing in 1998. Together, they were devoted charter members of Creighton Christian Church. "Mrs. Katie" as she was known to the children of the church, nurtured and taught them for 43 years.

Katie and George had passion for life in Arizona and spent countless summers at Lake Powell with family and friends. She is survived by her brother Bob Parnell and his wife Mildred, their two daughters, three grandchildren and great grandson; her sister Lou Harris, her three children, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Thomas Rd. Arrangements by Greenwood Jayne Prass "Mimi" Majors, passed away March 25, 2003 at the age of 69 while surrounded by her family. Janye was born in Ft. Wayne, IN on December 2, 1933 and moved to Phoenix at the' age of 2. She is a Xavier College Prepatory Alumni, class of 1951.

Jayne was co-owner of Arizona Field Research. She also was co-founder of the Chapter 11 Doll Club of Arizona. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Edward Donald Majors; daughters, Ellyn J. Johnson and Susan E. Robinson; sister, Yorkie E.

Vera Jean Riggins, 99, was born November 16, 1903 in Cumberland County, Illinois to Ivory and Artie Riggins. She entered into rest March 24, 2003 in Glendale, Arizona. Vera moved to Arizona in 1928. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emery Riggins and by a son; John Riggins. She is survived by her daughters; Jane Heflin and Rosemary Hopper, sons; Warren Riggins and Richard Riggins, 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Sanders, 74, died March 15, 2003 after an eleven year battle with prostate cancer. He is survived by his wife, Billie Jean, daughter Teresa (husband Sanders, 74, Michael), son Gary, grandchildren Jenna, Ryan and Kayla, four sis- Dignity ters and three brothers. Bill was born April 17, 1928 in Phoenix.

In 1951 he joined the United States Air Force and attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel by the time he retired in 1971. Bill served with distinction as a fighter pilot in both the Korean and Vietnam wars, flying over 100 missions in each. He flew P-51 "Mustangs" in the Korean War and 1 F-105 "Thuds" in the Vietnam war. During his 20 year career he was awarded numerous medals, including the Korean Service Medal, Air Medal, Distinguished Flying Cross, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Longevity Service Award, National Defense Service Medal, and United A Nations Medal as well as 27 Oak Leaf Clusters. After his retirement from the United States Air Force in 1971, Bill began a second career with the State of Department of Economic Security.

After serving the State of Arizona for over twenty years, he officially retired. After retirement Bill engaged in public service activities, including driving a van for the Red Cross and giving tours at the Champlin Fighter Aircraft Museum. Bill always lived life to the fullest, he enjoyed his family, Air Force and school reunions where he could share stories with old friends, working on cars and other projects in his garage, Saturday night barbecues and summers in San Diego. He will be forever remembered by his family and friends for his exceptional courage, both in defending his country and with his long-tern battle with cancer. Contributions to Ombudsman Program Area Agency on Aging, Steve Lacey, 1355 E. Thomas Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85014. Jack L. Senini, former vice mayor of Scottsdale, passed away on March 23, 2003, at age 69.

Senini arrived in Scottsdale in 1959 as a Realtor and, later as a broker, achieved success especially in the commercial real estate market. He was known widely and held in high regard in real estate circles throughout Phoenix and outlying areas and in 1975, was elected as president the Scottsdale Board of Realtors. In 1964, Senini ran for Scottsdale city council and remained on the council until 1971. His leadership resulted in a number of important lasting achievements. Senini was an active member of the Arizona Country Club and served as president of the club in 1998 and 1999.

An avid golfer, he often participated in and won ProAm matches throughout the Valley. His life and memories are celebrated by wife Dorris, four children and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road on Sunday, March 30 from 4 to 7 PM. 28, 2003 at First United Methodist Church of Mesa, 15 E. 1st Mesa, AZ. Contributions to First Methodist Church. Shelby Ann Shank Born July 10th, 1957, Died March 24th 2003. Shelby, Ann Shank departed from this life to join the Angels of Her Heavenly Father after a 15-year battle with cancer.

She is survived' by her Husband, Jan Lance Shank her daughter, Katie Lynn, Her parents Charlotte M. and Lt. Col. Roy E. Jacobsen, USAF her brother Roy C.

Jacobsen, and her sister Jan Montgomery. Shelby the youngest of three children was born in Bitburg Germany, at the USAF Hospital. loved always said she being an "Air Force She would glow with the stories she told of living on Okinawa and to this day would blame her fear of lightening of living in Kansas. Obituaries are by nature dry and declarative. Shelby was far from dry and declarative so this must rather be a celebration of life.

The first great joy in her life was her horses, and she had plenty of them! She loved all of them and the great fun she had at the shows or just at the barn. In the fall of 1985, Shelby met the man of her life Jan. It was love at first sight. The were best friends and soul mates. They were married on May 10th, 1986.

Evident to all Jan and Shelby were in love with each other and with life. They traveled, camped, boated, fished and watched Nascar together. They loved to have friends over and barbecue. Jan would start with his "Cowboy Poetry" and Shelby would roll her eyes and give a knowing wait until morning. With their love and devotion for each other they transformed any place they were into bit of paradise.

On November 17th 1988, Katie Lynn Shank was born at Scottsdale North Hospital. A new chapter began for the family as Shelby and Jan's love for each other widened to encircle their child. The family's love and companionship deepened for each as they walked the painfulcancer journey together. Shelby was too young to die. She was a friend to many and many would call her their "best She will be missed forever.

Services will be held Friday March 28th, 2pm at North Scottsdale United Methodist Church, 11735 N. Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ. 85260. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St.

Phoenix, AZ 85014. Thelma Shearer, born October 6, 1923 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She left this earth March 20, 2003. Thelma will be remembered by her family as a caring mother who always made a point of doing for others and putting herself second. Her Grandchildren will always remember her beautiful smile, gentle hugs, and warm kisses.

Thelma lost her adoring husband Gerald, 12 years ago and missed him every day that she was not with him. Although, she will be missed family, she has once again reunited with her true love. Thelma is survived by her sons, Gerald and Douglas Shearer, her sister, Murl Rogers, brothers, Steven and Paul Gregory, grandchildren, Samantha, Jason, Kendra, Steven, and Jennifer, and great-grandchild Colton Shearer. Dr. Shembab was born on June 9, 1915 in Superior, WI and received her degree in 1941 from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.

She moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1942 and was a practicing physician for 56 years. Extraordinarily wise, warm, loving, vibrant, comforting, Cele" and beloved compassionate, her was by family, her friends, her colleagues, her patients, and the families of her patients. In 1997, she was awarded the Dr. Joseph Ehrlich Medal from the Maricopa County Medical Society in Arizona; it reads: "We honor Dr. Cecilia H.

Shembab for her years of quiet, dedicated care for her small patients and her unusual ability to bring peace and hope to the most anxious of parents while instilling trust in her patients through her countenance of love and caring." Words are not enough to express how much we all miss her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Alcott on December 18, 1983. She is survived by her stepson, Richard Alcott and his Lee; stepgrandson Alcott and his wife, Susan; brother, Jerome Shembab and his wife, Karen; 2 nieces, 3 nephews, 5 greatnieces, 1 great-nephew, and 2 great-great nieces. She and Spencer, from Mesa, met at Santa Ana Junior College and began their lifelong romance on a hayride. Mary Jane graduated from the University of Washington and was a member of Alpha Phi sorority. After graduating from the University of Arizona, Spencer married Mary Jane and settled her in Phoenix where they raised five children. The surviving members of the Stewart's clan are by daughters Sue (Birmingham) and Mary Jane (Merritt), sons Lawrence M.

(Larry) and W.R. (Rick), fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Mary Jane was active in civic events serving as President of the Phoenix Women's Club and Phoenix Panhellenic. She was a board member of the Phoenix Little 1 Theater and the Phoenix Parks Board. She and Spencer were long-time supporters of the Boys' and Girls' Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix.

Mary Jane will be remembered for her social grace by all who met her and missed for her optimism and wit by those who knew her. Private services for the family are being planned.
