The Taggee pair became the first Big and Little Braves to complete the fifth award set of activities in the Indian Guide program. Brevard's YMCA Indian Guide program is eight years old. To complete the fifth award set, George and Bruce made a two day canoe trip, Indian style, with no modern conveniences not even a match or can opener. They began their trip near 1 95 and SR 520 west of Cocoa on the St. John's River, and paddled to SR 50 inTitusville.

Naval Pilot's License No. 78, big city by liner theatrical insider, delightful raconteur, extraordinary epicure, creative wizard, perennial child philanthropist Genius? 1 TOOAV Staff Pholct tcfl MtfctaV No, Just a Practical Inventor By BOB THOMAS TODAY Stoff Writer If he had not been born Ernest Arthur Zadig he might easily have been an electrical engineer, or a mechanical engineer, or a newspaperman, or an inventorr or an author, or a leading authority on sailing, or a gourmet cook. But, he was born who he is he is all of those things. and Ernie' Zadig has led a life that most of us can only dream about. And at age 74 he continues to lead the good life, living aboard his 80 foot yacht with all its posh trimming, making occasional trips to New York to discuss money and other matters with his publishers, and clinging to a memory of a near half century marriage to one of Broadway's moat beautiful musical comedy stars, the late Audrey Maple.

You can find Zadig, most days, aboard the Audern II, once the committee ship for the New York Yacht Club. Refitted six years ago as a retirement home for himself and his wife, the vessel once again is undergoing major changes to convert it to an oceanographic research classroom. On Zadig's death, the craft goes to Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne. "And I'm trying everything I know to prolong the day of gift he said, displaying a rwry sense of humor. Docked at the FIT moorings, the ship's outward appearance belies what its interior holds a complete machine shop, electrical shop, photographic darkroom, living salon, stainless steel galley, guest statevwm, crewman's quarters, space reserved for central air conditioning and, of course," Zadig's own luxurious stateroom and work area.

ERNEST ZADIG RELAXES IN THE STATEROOMOF HIS 80 FOOT YACHT To tour the Audern II is, ii a sense, to look inside this man and the woman he loved, who died In 1971. There are lathes and welding equipment and all the paraphernal ia one expects to find in a machine shop because Zadig is a mechanical engineer. In fact, he is more than that. "I learned the trade before and after college. I'm rated a CALL ME MS.

It's Hard to Draw Line on Porno By AUDREY CELLIS CXty Niwt t.rvlct must confess to mixed feelings about the recent Supreme Court ruling on obscenity. I have always believed that an adult has the right to read or look at pornography if that is what he or she wishes. However, I feel just as. strongly that 'a person who disdains pornography has the right not to be subjected to it. Seeing a hard core porno movie takes a positive act of will; You have to go, to the theater and plunk down your S3.

Likewise, you don't get a girlie magazine until you hand over your dollar bill. But when newspapers and magazines with hard core porno covers are displayed at newsstands, you're being every time you buy your daily paper. I was disturbed when I read that some communities had pulled the July issue of Playboy off newsstands forces of repression are abroad in the until I saw that issue at my local sta tionery store and suggested to the proprietor that he put it under the counter. The cover showed a model wearing nothing but eye shadow in a pose that can only be impolitely described as a gynecologist's eye view of a woman. Even when the cover Is a discreet brown wrapper, there is, still the question of, where it's 'sold; For I live on what used to be one of the quieiest blpcks.

Now, if you were a streetwalker looking for a good business location, where would you 'set up shop. Next to a supermarket or dry store? Or next to businesses offering related "Now every time I walk tround the corner it's like walking through an open air brothel! Ifvsomeone were to open a glue factory next to the mansion of a pornography kjng (and don't think it isn't a tempting thought) his lawyers would immediately invoke zoning laws restricting offensive businesses to nonresidential neighborhoods. Yet these same lawyers are defenders of First Amendment whenever someone complains about a sex emporium on his or her block.

master toolmaker," he said, and with no small degree of pride. There is electrical equipment to boggle the mind of a layman. But then, Zadig is an electrical engineer, and the vessel is a maze of "practical gadgetry." It is not advisable to board or attempt entry to the ship without an invitation. Whatever you would expect to find in a professional darkroom is tucked away in a compact compartment, midships and one ladder down. Zadig takes credit for being only an amateur, but can discuss the subject of photography in depth.

The galley is small, but efficiently designed. But then, that's what is to be expected: Zadig is author of "Cooking on Boats," soon to be released by Prentice Hall. The main salon reeks with comfort: pile carpeting, deep leather lounga upholstered chairs, inlaid coffee tables, rich hand rubbed ta bles and chests andj3thex i)bjecisjf the good life cut glass and fancy liquor decanters. And everywhere, there is the touch of a gracious woman, a woman of taste Audrey Maple, musical comedy prima donna of the 1920s and '30s, and a ranking member of the Lee Shubert theatrical For those old enough to remember the Broadway stage of that era, she appeared in "Naughty Riquette," and "The Orchid Lady." "It's interesting. I think, how met," Zaaig said.

"I was radio editor, filling in for our theater editor on the (New York) Telegram and was sent to review an opening night. this young lady walked out onto the stage and the house hushed. She really had stage presence. I happened to mention that in the piece I wrote and didn't think much more about it. Sometime later, a matter of weeks, I was introduced lo her at a cocktail party you could always get booze in those days despite prohibition and it was love just like that.

I started a round of 'stage door johnnying and the next thing we both knew we were married." How did an englneef get started i Continued on Next Page.
