Charlene Jane Browder, a long time resident of Paradise Valley, passed away in Scottsdale on September 9, 2001 after a courageous five-year battle with cancer. She was born in Bis- bee, Arizona May 6, 1933. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert W.

Browder; daughter, Rebecca Jane (John) Popoff; grandson Stavros Robert Popoff; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Grace Cobb; and her sister, Carolyn Joann Mercer. She' was a 1951 graduate of Bisbee High School and a 1954 graduate of Arizona State University. She taught grammar school in Tucson and Scottsdale, and for several years sold real estate. Private services have been held.

Survivors include her mother, Edna Buchanan; sister Leetha Huddleston of Missouri; brothers Robert Vannatta and Louis Vannatta of Glendale, AZ; many nieces nephews close friend, Glenda Roberts. He was 75 years old. Richard was born in Kings Park, Long Island, NY, and graduated from Boston University. He received an MS from the University of Colorado. He served in the the US Army Air Corps and the United States Air Force and retired in 1976. He was a licensed real estate agent for Ken Meade Realty in Sun City, AZ.

Col. Hayes started his military career in 1943 when he enlisted in the US Army Air Corps as an Aviation Cadet. He was honorably discharged in 1946. In 1950, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force through the Boston University AFROTC Program. He completed undergraduate pilot training at Williams AFB in 1951, as one of our nation's first jet fighter pilots.

Over 26 years of commissioned service he flew the following aircraft: T-28A, F-80, F-86D, C-47, C-124, and C-141. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 46 years, Margaret E. Hayes of Gettysburg, PA. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis McKelvey Hayes, his daughters Paula Preziotti of Columbia, MD, and Pamela Hayes Green of Winston-Salem, NCi and his sons Richard D. Hayes, III of Chandler, AZ, and Robert Michael Hayes of Phoenix, AZ.

He is also survived by his sisters Florence Fairchild and Patricia Bonacorda. He was the proud grandfather of seven and the great grandfather of Katelyn E. Hayes. A memorial service was held at Lundberg Mortuary Golden Door Chapel, Youngtown AZ on Wednesday, September 12, at 11:00. Donations may be sent to the National Diabetes Foundation.

Jack Hellman, 76, of Scottsdale, a CLU ChFC, died September 11, 2001. He was born August 13, 1925 in Holly, Colorado and "Jk moved Arizona "vf at nine months old. Jack was an ASU alumni. He Is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, John and Dan; step-daughters Cindy and Carolyn; step-son, Kevin; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill and Henry; and two sisters, Jean Hemingway and Lael Hellman. 13 grandchildren, 14 great grand children and 1 great great granddaughter. Alfred served in the Army medical corp during WWII and was involved in the D-Day Normandy invasion. He was an accomplished musician and pianist who passed on his love of music to young people as choral music teacher at Phoenix Union, Alhambra, Carl Hayden and Central high schools. Alfred is survived bh his sons: Andrew and David and daughter-in-law Mich-ele. He was our dad. We loved him and miss him.

Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, 9am at First United Methodist Church in the sanctuary 5510 N. Central Ave, Phoenix, Hansen Mortuary. We love and mis'. you. your loving wife Judy, children, father, sister, grandchildren, mother in law, sister and brother in law. nieces and nephews. 1 V.v John Vernon "Tuck" Tuckey, Age 90, passed away on September 8, 2001 in Glendale, Arizona.

Mr. Tuckey was born on May 26, 1911, in Glendale, Arizona, to John and Kate -jf' (Rambo) Tuckey. He attended ASU where he was a Student Body President 1933-34, and was very active in basketball, football and baseball, graduating in 1934. He went on to gain his Master's Degree in Education from Colorado State in Greeley, Colorado in 1938. From 1934-1942, he was an athletic coach and teacher with the Madison School District and Phoenix Union High School.

In 1942, he became a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He served with the Bureau for 34 years, retiring in 1978. Tuck was a dedicated outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was the Founder and Operator of "Burnt Biscuits" Catering in Phoenix. He was a Mason and member of El Zariba Shrine.

His wife, Inez Wood Tuckey preceded him in death in 1984. He is survived by one sister, Ruth Pentecost of Sun City; nephews Douglas Cook of Phoenix, Robert Brown of Macon GA, Tim Brown of Houston and Garret Wood of Tulsa; niece Joan Cook Bitter of Idaho Falls, numerous great-nephews and great-nieces, and his very special friends, Ruth Votaw and Dolly of Glendale. Services for Mr. Tuckey will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2001 at The First Presbyterian Church of Peoria, 10236 N. 83rd Avenue, Peoria, Arizona at 11:00 A.M.

She also retired from Maricopa County hospital. She is survived by a Daughter Kay Wilson of San Clemente, CA, Sons Bob Willow of San Francisco, CA and Jim Willow, of Avondale, Sister Fern Beresford of Yuma, Brothers Glen Rice and Ennis Rice of Yuma, AZ. and Kermit Rice of Phoenix, 10 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren.

Mr. Yount, a machinist, was born in German Town, MO. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Juanita, two daughters Alvene Beard of Mesa, AZ and Linda Childers, of Chino, CA, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and 2 sisters Edith Leach of Hemet, CA and Pauline Mosley of Fontana, CA. Timothy Finley "Bomar" McDonald, of Avondale, died September 5, 2001. Lifetime resident of Avondale. "Bomar" delivered the newspaper to Avondale residents as a young boy, was store manager for Southwest Supermarkents, Mega Foods ABCO Supermarkets. "Bomar" was a high spirited, good natured, fun loving, sincere sensative man that loved people Young Old. He never walked down a street without saying hello to everyone he met.

"Bomar" always brought a smile to everyone's face with his creative jokes. The father of 5 children that he dearly loved, they were his 3 Sons 2 Daughters: Steven McDonald, Michael McDonald, Joel McDonald, Monica McDonald Daniel McDonald. Also survived by his mother: Pearl J. McDonald. His sisters: Pearl "Dolly" Ortiz, Lorado Marie "Tookie" Myers, Lana Elizebeth Stephenson and Brother Jimmy Dean St.

Cyr, 7 Nephews, 6 Nieces-All who will remember him as a giving uncle, not only of candy but of love laughter. "Bomar" had a friend on every corner, he will truly be missed. He was too young, too hansome! We all benefited greatly by having experienced the joy of knowing We will miss you "Bomar" but your memory will live fprever in our hearts. Friday from 4pm-7pm. Arthur H. Meade, 77, of Mesa AZ, entered into rest September 11, 2001. Born in Detroit, MI he was a WWII Navy veteran and retired Ford Motor Co. machine repairman.

Survived by his wife Mary, daughters son-in-law Phyllis Elmer Yocum of California, Sandra Larson of Michigan, sons daughter-in-law Dennis Meade of Michigan, Jeffery Mona Meade of South Carolina, 9 grandchildren 3 great-grandchildren. A lifelong piano teacher, fine musician and talented accompanist, she was born in Denver, Colorado. She was a graduate of North Texas State University and lived in Texas, New Mexico, Florida, Mississippi, Kansas and Connecticut, and was a resident of Scottsdale and Mesa for the last 25 years. She and her husband of 57 years, Joshua, ran the Missal Art gallery located first in Connecticut and then Scottsdale.

Mrs. Ruth Carolyn Paquin was born July 8, 1919 in Flagstaff, AZ to Orlando and Henrietta (Thiele) Cook. She was a Reg. Nurse and moved to Prescott, AZ from Cottonwood, AZ in 1987. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society in Prescott and a member of the Humboldt, AZ "Fun Bunch" and Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks Lodge in Cottonwood, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paquin in 1986. Mrs. Parker lived in Okla. Until she was 6 yrs. Old when the family moved to Brownwood, Tx. She graduated from high school there.

She moved with her parents to Glendale, Az. in 1929 and in 1932 she married Loren O. McDannald in Phoenix. She raised three sons, two of which preceeded her in death, Kenneth Edward McDannald in 1984 and Virgil Lloyd McDannald in March 2001. Her husband, E.M.

Parker also preceeded her in death in 1991. Mrs. Parker is survived by one son, Vernon A. McDannald of Dewey, Az. She has 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great great grandson.
