Stockard will address members of the Navarro Junior College graduation class at their annual commencement program tonight it 8 o'clock In the NJC auditorium. Dean Gaston T. Gooch will present the awards and President Ray L.

Waller will present the diplomas. The program follows: Processional: Pomp and Circumstance Billy Dan Clark Triplett, minister, Westslde Church of Christ. Introduction by Waller, President of the College. Jerry T. Stockard, State Representative.

Love, trustee for the Waco Orphanage farm, located one mile west of Corslcana. has sodded five collective terrace outlets to Bermuda grass. A good seedbed was prepared by flatbreaking and sod- ding was done with the district sodding machine by a local contractor. Approximately 200 pounds per acre of 6-10-5 fertilizer was used to help grass spread, so as to get the waterways established as soon as possible to receive terrace water. Glen Bell, Barry conser on group, has seeded one acre to K.

R. Bluestem to establish a vegetative waterway to empty terrace water onto. The K. R. seed was planted on top of the ground with the district drill and then rolled.

Mrs. A. Elliott, whose farm is one mile east of Rice, has sodded two collective terrace outlets. The land was flatbroken so as to ive a good seedbed. Sodding was one by J.

Turner, a local con- tractor, using the district sod- ding machine. Randolph Robinson, Eureka conservation group, has planted approximately two acres of K. R. Bluestem to establish a collective terrace outlet for terrace water. The Bluestem was planted In one foot rows with the district drill.

Mrs. T. M. Stokes, whose farm Is three miles northwest of Emhouse, has sodded one collective terrace outlet of approximately three acres. The land was flat- broken prior to rains and sodded with the district sodding machine by a local contractor, W.

W. Olsen, Roane conservation group, has sodded one collective terrace outlet to Bermuda. The waterway was shaped with a bulldozer and grader before sodding. This waterway will take care of water from a diversion terrace and also several field terraces. The terrace will protect approximately 40 acres of land.

Fred Newman Dies Late Sunday; Funeral Tuesday Fred NewWn, 70, former restau- rent operator and well-known Cor- sicanan, died at the P. and S. Hospital Sunday night following a short illness. He resided at George's Hotel. Funeral services will be held from the McCnmmon Funeral Chapel.

Burial will be In Oakwood cemetery. The rites will be conducted by Rev. Oble F. Barton, pastor of the Fellowship Baptist church. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Mrs.

Harriett Newman, North Holly- wodo, and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be S. N. Georgas, Max Brusteln, Bob Holloway, N. Goodman, Logsdon and John Hayden.

CHILD STRUCK BV CAR Janie daughter of C. Christian, was slightly Injured Monday morning in the 600 block on Highway 76 south when stuck by an automobile. Member Federal Deposit Inmranee Corporation, Rice Graduation Program Slated Monday Night Commencement exercises for Rice High School will be held Monday a 8 p. m. with H. C. Allen, principal of Corsicana Junior High School, as the guest speaker.

Baccalaureate services were held Sunday at 8 p. m. In the Haynle Memorial Church at Rice, with Dr. Matthew Arnold, pastor of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Corsicana, as the speaker. Rice High School's valedictorian is Jack Horton.

The salutatut'ian Is Charlie Thompson. Other members of the graduating elass are Blllio Louise Hartley, J. C. Roberts and Irene Emmcrt. Emmanuel Baptist Church Reports Good Attendance Services were well attended both hours Sunday at the Emmanuel Baptist church.

The superintendent reports a splendid number attending Sunday school and welcoming a number of visitors and new members. Rev. Wilson M. Lonas brought the message at the morning hour on "Blessing of the Church" which was timely and inspirational. Special music was rendered by the Rev.

John Kosier and daughter, Betty, of Knoxvllle, at the morning service. Two additions by letter to the church. The church was happy to have the pastor's mother and other relatives in the service Sunday. They, along with some of the church members, attended the graduation services at Baylor University Sunday night Rev. Jerry Key, associate pastor of Calvary Baptist church, filled the pulpit Sunday night.

The morning subject was "Three Great Facts" and the evening sermon was titled "A City That Is On a Hill Cannot Be Hidden." There was good attendance, with 172 in Sunday school and 110 in BTC. Six joined by letter at the end of morning services. Three joined by baptism at evening services. Prayer services on Wednesday has been changed from 7:30 to 8 m. A revival meeting starts at the church on June 4.
