Arrangements by Sunland Mortuary. David Jose Luis Ovante del Valle "Lil age 23, heard the Lord calling him and guiding him under his wing on Christmas morning. With his heartfelt philosophy he surely touched the lives of many people. Religious in nature and upbringing always blessing whom he met and requesting "pray for me." His life here was rocky, but he always had a smile and was truly a brilliant diamond with one flaw that cost him his life. A loveable young man that will sorely be missed.

He was survived by his Mother, Maria Guadalupe "Lupe" Ovante, Father Martin R. del Valle, Step-Mother Jacque M. del Valle, Grandmothers Sophia Ovante and Alicia "Lecha" del Valle, Brothers Freddy Ovante, Martin R. del Valle, Jr. Antonio 'Tony" del Valle, and Michael Ovante.

Sister Rosalee Ovante and many extended family and friends. For all that knew him let his death be in vain, but learn from him. Visitation will be Sunday, December 30, at 30 E. Cody from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. and a funeral mass will follow on Monday, 10:00 A.M.

Doug Beckett, passed away on December 22, 2001 at the age of 39. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut on May 5, 1962. He moved to Arizona in 1968 from Hartford. 22, 1928, he moved to Arizona 22 years ago from Lombard, IL. He was an executive at Baxter Laborato- ries and President of hjr 'own medical consulting company, Bussema, Inc. He was a member of Paradise Valley Methodist Church, and a graduate of Michigan State University (BS), and the University of Chicago (MBA). He was born March 18, 1914 in Youngstown, Ohio. He married Myrtle Bailey in 1937. Moved to Phoenix, in 1947 and was employed at Borden's Dairy until he retired in 1981. He was an active member and Deacon at Central Heights Baptist Church. He was a pilot and long time member of Experimental Aircraft Assoc.

He volunteered at Bryans Extended Care Center. He is preceded in death by his loving wife and daughter Bette Marble. Survivors include his daughter Grace Perkins, son-in-law Claude Perkins; daughter Judith Rollins Leroy daughter-in-law Mary Beth; son-in-law Elmer. Marble; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great greatgrandchild. Memorial Service: Central Heights Baptist Church, January 5th, 10:00 AM.

Mary was born in Pennsylvania and lived all of her childhoold and early adulthood in Michigan, before moving to the West Coast in the late 1940's. She and her late husband, Bill, who passed away in July 2000, moved to Sun City West in 1990. Chandler Heights Chandler, AZ. Mrs. McDonald, an Inventory Control Specialist for SCM, an electronics manufacturing company, for 15 years, was born April 26, 1934 in Hackett, Arkansas. She moved to Arizona 18 years ago from Brea, California. She was also a songwriter and a volunteer entertainer at the Veterans Hospital.

She passed away, Sunday, December 23, 2001 in Payson. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Cecil R. He was also an avid golfer and a U.S. Army veteran. He valiantly fought cancer for two months before gracefully passing away with the support of family and friends on December 26, 2001.

He was the loving husband of Cindy Lee (Cole) Penrod, and they were the parents of seven children Ashley, Bryson, Jace, Kelten, Raynee, and preceded in death by son Delaney James Penrod. She married Lt. Col. Russell L. Rogers who served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force.

They lived all around the world enjoying 18 years of marriage with their five children until his untimely death in 1967. She settled in Scottsdale to be near her parents and raise her family. She has been a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Her kindness and goodness have touched countless individuals in her church and. community.

She was loved by all and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Mary Ann is survived by her daughter- Sharon Cowley and sons Steven, David, Gary and Michael; brother Russell Kesterson; 26 grandchildren including 2 who preceded her in death and 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Sunday, December 30, 2001, at Newcomer Mortuary 6812 East Thomas Rd. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had served as Scoutmaster, Elders Quorum President and worked at the Bishop's Storehouse for 15 years.

Owen D. Taranta, 47, Scottsdale, died Dec. 18, 2001. Owen was born in Mt. Clemens, MI, March 10, 1954.

For much of his youth, he lived in Fowler, OH (near Youngstown.) He attended the University of Arizona on a ROTC scholarship and graduated in 1976. That same year he married Emily Colter. During the years of his employment, he was a senior member of the management team of several hi-tech companies. He earned several other educational degrees including a MBA from the University of Arizona and a Masters in Computer Science from DePaul University. He also wrote a book, Soldier Skills about time management -for an organization.

Although divorced, he is survived by his former wife Emily and his children, Ethan, Libby, Austin and Rachel. He is also survived by six sisters: Margaret Perry, Paula Turk, Therese Groves, Stephanie Herron, Rene Parker and Rosona Taranta and four Ranieri, Eugene, Joseph and Chrisitan Taranta. His parents Therese and Ranieri Taranta and two brothers, Mark and Evan are deceased. Sevices will be held on Sunday, Dec. 30th at 2 PM at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center, 15 E.

I Witherspoon, 53, of Gilbert AZ, died December 1 2001 while on ms aauy run. ne was born July 4, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska, was a 1966 graduate of Scottsdale High, received his undergraduate degree and MBA from Arizona State University and had been employed with SRP for the past 22 yean and most recently as Principal Environmental Engineer. An extreme skier, golfer and diver, Greg lived life to the fullest and we love him. Survivors include his father, Losey Witherspoon; 2 brothers, Gary (Sandy) and Dan; nephew, Kyle and niece, Stephanie. Greg was preceded in death by his beautiful, loving mqther, Odette.

Funeral Services will be 10am Monday, December 31st at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 3641 N. 56th Street, Phoenix with visitation one hour prior to the the service. Greg was actively involved in his church and it's Building Program. Contributions may be given in his memory to the Building Fund at Prince of Peace. Hunter, 44, of Sun City, passed away on Dec. 26, 2001. He was born Sept. 7, 1957 in Pipestone, Minnesota and moved to Arizona in 1980. He was employed for 20 years at Arizona Technical Employment as a Specialist.

15, 1927 in Jackson, TN. He is a' WWII Navy veteran and a proud member of the Grand Lodge of AZ Masons. He is a well known steel guitarist who began his career on The Grand Of Opry stage and worked with the likes of Elvis Presley, Waylon Jennings, Tex Ritter, Bob Wills, and many more throughout the years. He and his wife took over Porters Western Wear in the 60's and it continues as a family run business today. Bob was a great story teller who was known for his wonderful sense of humor and who always lived his life to the fullest.

He is deeply missed and loved by his devoted and loving wife of 50 years, Margie, his son Ron and wile Lucy, his daughters Fran, Deborah, Staci and husband Ryan. He is known as Papa to grandchildren Nikki, Scott, Jamie, Randy, Becky, Dallas and Makcnzi and 5 great grandchildren.
