After three scoreless innings, the Legionnaires scored a single'run on a double by W. H.' Gunter, sin- jgle by J. R. Boyett and a error. j Two more runs crossed the plate in the next inning on double.• by Johnson, and consecutive singles by White, Beasley, and Filogamo combined with two walks. They again picked up single tal- lys in the seventh and eighth. The Legionnaires really iced the game in the ninth as picked up three runs, on .back to back singles by Griffin and Duke, a double by Johnson, and back to back singles by White and Beasley. The Giants never threatened during the game. Only one man got as far as third base. In winning the game, Joe Barrentine picked up his sixth straight victory without a defeat. He gave up no. runs on six hits, walk,ed one, while fanning 6. Ben^tield, the starter and.loser, gave up three runs on 7 hits, walked two and, struck out four in four and two-thirds innings. Bill Talbot, his releif, gave up six runs on 10 hits tanned 5 and walked 4. Monday night the Hope Legionnaires return to , Nashville for an encounter with the Cubs.
