Putt opened her lovely home Monday evening for the regular meeting of the Green Springs Garden club Mrs. C. C. Vandersall and Mrs. Clinton Shellhamer were assistant hostesses.

Plans were finished for the benefit card party which members are sponsoring on Friday evening the 14th at the Finch House. Several clubs from Green Springs, Fremont and Vickery have made reservations. The tickets may be obtained from Mrs. Leo Shcahnn, Mrs. Harry Meggltt, Mrs.

H. H. Finn, Mrs. Floyd Palm and Mrs. E.

L. Wood. The pro- coeds are to be used in purchasing roses for the Gameter memorial at the school grounds, Mrs. Vandersall conducted a fiower sate at the meeting, plants and flowers being brought by members. There will be another sale at the May meeting and all members are asked to bring a flower, potted plant of roots of flowers, from their gardens.

Mrs. William Drow reported that eight elms, two of which are replacements, will be planted within the next few days at the Gateway, directly off 'route 20. The club voted favorably on planting a tree In the local school ground. This tree is to have a plaque with an inscription on as from the Green Springs Garden club and the kind and location -will be decided by the school board. Schwarz, 72, who was found dead in bed this morning at his home, No. 2 Newton-st, probably will be held Saturday after noon. The body has been removed to Orefoaujh's Funeral Service. Mr. Scbivarz was seized with fluenza a few days ago at a time when he appeared In good health.

Mr. Schwarz was prominent fig ure for years as an executive of the old A. B. Chase Piano factory, a frorwalk concern with a national reputation. He learned the Idaho trade In the Steinway factory at New York.

Mr. Schwara was chairman of the Huron-co Republican central committee, a past Exaltcr Ruler of the Norwalk Elks, a mem ter of the Norwalk Episcopal Church and the Norwalk Country Club. A a member of the city council, he rendered valuable Service to the city over a period of many years. Recently, Mr. Schwarz had been endorsed by the Huron-co Republican committee for an Important pest in the old age pension department and Gov.

John Bricker 'a appointment of him was expected this month. Mr. Schwa ra married Miss Morgan of this cily at Elyrla Feb. II, 1892. The widow, a daughter, Mrs.

KLAISS TIFFIN. April 13 (Special) Mrs- Emily E. Klalss, 81. wife of Charles Klalss, died this morning in her home.at Deunquat, south of here, following an Illness of six weeks- Mrs. Klalss was a daughter of John and Margaret Miller De Rothe and was married Dec.

DeRothe, Columbus. Funeral services will be held at the residenco Saturday at 2 p. m. and in the Deunquat Lutheran Church at 2:30 p. m.

R. Soule of Cleveland, a former resident of Norwalk, died in his 81st year. Ho was struck by an automobile and received a fractured hip. Burial was made in West Park Cemetery Tuesday of this week. His wife died a number of years ago.

Surviving is a son, Mllo of Cleveland, and three daughters, Minta, Ciraca and Ruth, all of Clove- land. Mr. Soule had made his home with a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E.

B. Rhoda. Besides the children, one brother, W. A. Soule of Akron and one sister.

Mrs. Mary K. Lutts of this city, survive.
