and Mrs. George F. Kuepker were married last Wednesday afternoon at the St. John's Evangelical Lulhcian church at Spring Fountain. Hev.

C. Born performing the ceremony. The wedding march was played by Miss Edna Dcttmcr of Waterloo used the Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin as tho processional and the Wedding March by Mendelssohn for the lecessional. The bride wore a dress of white satin with a full length veil fashioned in cap style and carried a bouquet of white roses. She was attended by her sister.

Clara Braun who wore a yellow- satin dress and carried a bouquet of pink carnations. The flower girls were Gertrude and Lucille Kuepker. Tho groom, who wore a dark blue suit, was attended by his brother. Norman Kuepker. Misses Esther Braun and Lenora Stecge acted as ushers.

After the ceremony a reception for the relatives and friends was held at the home of the bride's mother and Misses Elvira Deu. Ella Kukor, Alice Born, Eleanor Dm, Mildred Stcegc and Viola Kuker acted as table wait- Auxiliary Meets Ncxf Tuesday Afternoon The regular meeting of the Legion Auxiliary will he held promptly at J) p. m. in the Legion hall Tuesday, December S. Following the business meeting a short program will be given: Danee, Margaret Padon; reading, Wilma.

Dickman; violin solo, Edmund Pipho. The solving committee for the afternoon will be Mesdamcs Lethn Paden, Elizabeth Uasche, Viola Rathbone, Florence Rhea, Laura Ribbeck and Delia Robertson. Bridge Club Meets with Mrs. F. K.

M. K. club will be entertained this afternoon at the home of Mrs. L. A.

Sihuknecht. Mrs. F. Berg Hostess to Nubritlgo Cluh Today Mrs. F.

Berg will be hostess to tho members of the Nuhridge club at her home this evening. Mr. and Mrs. Kuepker will reside on a farm southwest of Sumner. Evangelical Women and Young People Sponsor Fine Program Those fortunate to accept the vilntion to hear this program felt the bridegroom, of "open to us" lichly repaid for the effort while, they listened to the fine instructive Missionary readings rendered well by local young women.

Those taking part iii the readings were the Mes- damcs Hazel Potratx, Mabel Mcssevev, Vcrla Speickor, and the Misses Marie Mucther and Glorine Stevens. Tho cantata, "The Ten Virgins" as outlined in Matthew 25, given by ten young ladies, assisted by a choir of 15 voices kept the audience in sympathetic expectation. Heartrending indeed was the wail of the five, whose light had gone out while waiting for the coming. Being beckoned to go and buy oil by the five wise virgins whose supply was sufficient for themselves only, the foolish ones return finding themselves outside of the closed door, through which the five wise virgins had entered to welcome Their repeated cry brought the sorry, but firm response by tho bridegroom, "Too late, too late, ye cannot enter in." The evening's program was interspersed with special music, a piano duet by the Misses Lilliam and Elizabeth Grannemann, duet by Mrs. E.

J. Duhrkopf and Mrs. L. Miller, a solo by Mrs. M.

J. Mcsserer and a quartet by the ladies quartet. The ladies voice a hearty thank you for the fine thankoffering of $60. Minnie Knoploh and Raymond Schlichting United in Marriage Miss Minnie Knoploh and Raymond Schlichting were united in marriage last Thursday at 2 p. m.

at the Buck Cieek Lutheran church with Rev. H. Kuhlman performing the ceremony. The couple- were attended by Miss Lorretta Knoploh, sister of the bride, and Miss Elda Schlichting, sister of the groom; Werner Schlichting, brother of the groom and Ernest Knoploh, brother of the b7'ide. The flower girls were Lorna Zell and Margaret Schlichting.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents to a large number of relatives and friends. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Knoploh and her life has been spent on the farm where she will continue to live. and Mrs. H. J. Wittenberg, and Raymond Benter, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Herman Benter of Hawkeye, were united in marriage on Tuesday. December 1, at, 1 o'clock at the Richfield Lutheran church, Rev. Fred Ide performing the ceremony, using the single ring ceremony. Mrs. Leo Nie- played the wedding march and Dorothea Wittenberg and LaVerle Everett sang, "Perfect Love." The bride wore a white satin dress with a full length veil and carried an arm bouquet of chrvsanthemums.

white and yellow- She was attended by Alta Wittenberg, sister of the bride, who wore a yellow satin dress and also carried a bouquet of yellow and white chrysanthemums. The groom was attended by Edwin Schnor. cousin of the groom. A six o'clock wedding dinner was served to about 40 relatives and friends at the home of the bride's parents and in the evening a wedding dance was given at the Legion hall in Sumner. Approximately 400 attended this dance.

Abe Radcmaker Wednesday afternoon. They are to conic early and do some work for the hostess. There was very good response with the pledge cards last Sunday morning. Will those who were not there please send in theirs as soon as they have signed them. Sunday morning we will have the communion service both at Westgate and Sumner.

All come that can, and take part in this service of the church. You will be welcome at the Lord's table. The Women's Foreign Missionary society will meet on Tuesday, December 8, at the home of Mrs. Farmer Wells. Board Proceedings Proceedings of the Board of Supervisors of Brenicr county, town.

October 30th, 1931. The Board of Supervisors of Brcmcr county, Iowa, met in regular adjourned session in tho office of the county auditor, Waverly, Town, on the 30th dav of October, 1931, nt 1:30 o'clock present. Frank Lang attended both the parochial and public schools near Buck Creek and since then she has been living at home. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.

Carl C. Schlichting of Tripoli and after he completed his school work he took up farming with his father. For the present, Mr. and Mrs. Schliehting will not take a wedding trip but will live on the farm of the bride's parents, who plan to retire soon.

Viola Wenthe and Frank Shaw- Married Last Wednesday Miss Viola Wenthe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wenthe, living southeast of Sumner, and Frank Shaw of Independence were married last Wednesday at high noon at the St. John's Lutheran church with Rev. C.

J. Mardorf performing the ceremony. The bride wore a dress of blue flat crepe and carried an arm bouquet of chrysanthemums and was attended by her sister, Clara Wenthe who wore a Spanish tile flat crone dress. The groom was attended by Lester Pollow. The wedding march was played by Mrs.

C. J. Mardorf, and Miss Evelyn Wenthe, cousin of the bride, sang, "0 Promise Me." Immediately following the ceremony the wedding party adjourned to the home of the bride's parents where a wedding dinner was served to the immediate relatives. Mr. and Mrs.

Shaw will live at Independence, where Mr. Shaw is engaged in the retail hardware business. Wilma Williams and Floyd Cass Married Friday Miss Wilma Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ora B.

Williams, living south of Sumner, and Floyd Cass, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Cass of Monmouth, were united in marriage Friday afternoon at the M. E. parsonage by Rev.

Paul P. Pease who used the single ring ceremony. Tho bride wore a pale blue flat crepe dress with accessories to match and the groom wore a dark blue suit The couple were unattended with the exception of her parents who actec as witnesses. Mr. and Mrs.

Cass wil make their home with the bride's parents for the winter. Pearl Lease and Paul Seehaae United in Marriage Miss Pearl Lease, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D.

Hochbergcr became the bi idu of Paul Suchase, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry. Seuhaso in a ceremony performed at the St. John's Lutheran church, Thursday, November 26, with Rev.

C. J. Mardorf officiating. The wedding march was played by Mrs. C.

J. Mardorf. The bride wore a white satin full length dress with a veil which was fashioned in cap style, and carried an arm bouquet of roses and sweet peas. She was attended by Hulda Scehase and La Verna Heineman, both wearing; yellow satin dresses. Tho groom was attired in a dark suit and was attended by William See- husc and Louis Hochberger.

A wedding dinner was served at o'clock at the home of the bride to a largo number of relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Seehase will make their homo with his Mrs. Curl Seuhuse.

November 16th, 1931 The board of supervisors of Bremer county, Iowa, met as per adjournment. Members present, Chairman Frank Lang and Leonard Miller. Absent, C. G. Schwem.

The board opened and considered the bids for furnishing lumber, snow fence and snow fence posts. After due consideration it moved, seconded and carried, that the lumber and snovf fence contract be awarded to W. W. Saylor in the sum of $2399.92 and the contract for snow fence posts to Chas. W.

Storms for $258.24, same being the lowest and best bids. Moved, seconded and carried that the rest of the bids be rejected. Moved, seconded and carried that the board enter into a contract with the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. for telephone service to the County Home. On motion the board adjourned to meet at 9:00 o'clock a.
