Ml wofflta tbew 2m kB Wis From OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT NEW YORK, community of mystics near New York is planning a "centre for dying." reports (or a new roll free.) ageless realm of mysticism;" they say. Mr Alpert, 33, said this week, "There are cells in the brain and many times combinations of cells. "Vet we think at the rate of only three concepts per second. Obviously, there is much more in our heads than we are using." LSD was important to mankind, Mr Alpert said, because "it is the most powerful mind altering substance ever found, "It appears to alter the nervous system at least for a short time in such a way that the model it has for perceiving the world is set aside and the person comes into a state of direct experience without symbolic mediation." The drug induced strange and sometimes indescribable mental experiences, he. said.

The centre would admit persons of all ages to prepare them to face death. Instead of fearing death, participants would face it with "peace and serenity." The plan is the brainchild of two psychologists who were dismissed by Harvard University for experiments on students with mind-altering drugs. They are Richard Alpert and Timothy Leary who ruined promising academic careers by giving undergraduates the controversial drug LSD. The two men, after moving to Mexico and the Caribbean, now head a group of mystics in IVIilllirook, a quiet country (own about 101) miles from New York City. Thinking aid The mystics hold what they call "weekend workshops" in a rambling 63-room mansion on a estate.

Barred by law from using LSD and other hallucinatory drugs, they do such things as staring at a bright, white light in a darkened room. This aids meditation and opens to the mind "the 50 may very well become the standard color material of many quality-conscious photographers. Color fidelity is amazing through a wide range of exposure variations. When the film was grossly over-exposed, a pastel-toned image resulted. The colors remained true, however, they did not become washed-out or distorted.

Color fidelity held just as well in the case of under-exposure. While the colors were more saturated, the hues did not change. We were highly pleased with this, because the film's ability to hold color through a wide range of exposure variations enables the photographer to get special effects." from U.S. Camera. 2 "We found all ot them exciting, especially the 50 and 100T emulsions.

Ansco is to be congratulated upon the introduction of these films." from U.S. Camera. 3 "Emulsion and dye improvements account for Ansco's across-the-board change in their color line. It spells big benefits for photographers." from Camera 35. 50 emphasises ultra-fine grain with matching sharpness.

It has a very long scale of reproduction that holds all details with one stop over-exposure and one full stop under-exposure." from Camera 35. 5 "Another feature ot this film is its ability to 'see into shadows' when the exposure is based on a highlight reading. We use the expression 'see into shadows' deliberately, because that is what the film does. We could say that the film has a wide latitude and soft gradation (it has both), but that would be just a repetition of over-used technical terms. When you see for the first time the shadow areas in your pictures just as you saw them with the naked eye, full of details and true in color, you will realise that a valuable new tool has been placed at the disposal of photographers." from U.S.

Camera. "tf "Anscochrome 100T this high-speed JLU tungsten emulsion exhibits excellent color rendition and fine-grain structure. It was tried under a variety of circumstances, with the recommended as well as off-balance light sources, including fluorescents. The results were satisfactory in every instance. We were particularly impressed by this film's ability to render true colors from U.S.

Camera. "Anscochrome 100T looks like the film of choice for available light work." from Camera 35. the immediate attention-getter of the new group is Anscochrome 200. In addition to speed, its most striking feature is its relatively high contrast the highlights and whites of Anscochrome 200 are bright and clear, with no detectable stain." from Camera 35. is the speed champion among color films.

It's been extensively tested by two of America's astronauts, Walter Schiarra and Gordon Cooper, who used it on their orbital flights. The high speed enables the photographer to tackle low-light situations without sacrificing quality. We exposed some street scenes when the daylight was almost gone and the colors in the transparencies are very good. We were surprised to discover that the new 200 ASA Anscochrome does not appear to be grainy when projected to fill a six-foot screen. It also can be over-exposed a full stop with good rendition.

This is a very exciting emulsion, well worth trying. The extra speed will come in handy with long lenses where high shutter speeds and small apertures are required." from U.S. Camera. "These four new color films are a real credit to Ansco. They have come out with a whole new line of color, with a film for every taste and almost every requirement." from Camera 35.

The new Ansco color films bring you professional color fidelity and a wide choice of film speeds for the first time. The new lightweight emulsions also give brighter pictures in your projector they let more light through. An outstanding feature of the new Ansco color is its tolerance you have more latitude, you get more detail in shadow areas than with any previous color film. 2,000 m.p.li. Plane WASHING TON, Saturday (A.A.P.).

The United States Air Force released today pictures of the SR7I strategic reconnaissance aircraft which is described as being capable of world-wide reconnaissance missions at speeds in excess of 2,000 miles an hour. 6 "The overall color balance is pleasingly warm." from Camera 35. "This is quite a film give it a try." from U.S. Camera. 100 is different from its ASA 50 brother.

It emphasises the colors somewhat. In the past, most color transparency materials were like that, so the results will appear to be familiar to color workers. We liked the pictorial effect of pictures made on this emulsion, even though the colors were accented. We believe that the greater speed (ASA 100) and its vivid color presentation will make it a favorite." from U.S. Camera.
