Starring David' Slingsby It's a fascinating opportunity to play juror. Storm resists the opportunity to editorialise and in his crisp rendering, the story develops into a powerful drama, so much more compelling for being true. Producer Don Cat-chlove and Storm have assembled a first rate cast and they don't put a foot wrong superbly maintained at that curiously Dunn's defence counsel, Max Cullen as a worrying police witness, Chris Haywood and Peter Whitford. With Prejudice is a worrying title to see attached to an episode in which justice is supposed to have been done. That it seems an apt title is cause for some alarm.

If you conduct a snap poll you may find, as I did, that's pretty right Asked about the outcome or the Hilton bomb ing affair, my sample tended to come up with something like 'didn't they get those Ananda Margas for They didn't, of course. Nobody has been 'got' for the Hilton bombing and conspiracy theories on the subject abound, including some which link the po-' lice and ASIO with the bombing. The so-called Ananda Marga three Tim Anderson, Ross Dunn and Col Alister were actually charged with conspiring to murder Robert Cameron, the leader of a minor right wing political party.

The case against the three men, who strenuously asserted their innocence from the start, depended almost entirely on the evidence of a police informer named Richard Scary. The accused men have always claimed they were set up by Seary, who they say invited them out on a graffiti expedition and had the bomb in his car on the night he arranged for police to arrest them all. Disney like THE SECRET OF NIMH (G). Directed by Don Bluth. Animation. Hoyts Seary left the country immediately after the trial, returning last year to give evidence at the Hilton bombing inquest, repeating there the allegation he'd made earlier about a conversation with the men that referred to the Hilton bombing. No charges have been laid against the men in relation to the Hilton affair and since the trial, serious doubts have been raised about the justice of their conviction and, in articular, about the va-idity of Richard Seary's evidence.

Clearly, the debate on this controversial issue is far from over, with a vigorous campaign now being mounted to secure the release of the three men. Esben Storm's skilful documentary simply takes the debate back to square one. Adopting a determinedly impartial stance, his film meticulously recreates the first trial -dramatising the events as they are described by each of the witnesses. Thus we listen as the police deliver their strait-jacketed version of the night of the men's arrest, and then we watch it happen as they say it did. We then have the opportunity to compare this version with the events as described by the accused.

They could also take along judiciously selected tots. I say that because many a time I've observed well-intentioned oldies foisting Fantasia and other such folderol on squirming offspring who'd clearly rather be seeing Star Wars even for the fifth time. Earlier last week, I heard the manager of one of the better-known suburban cinemas describing how he'd observed a bunch of small primary schoolers strolling past his Fantasia poster and chorusing in disgust about what absolute expletive deleted it was.

Having said that, it must now be emphasised that The Secret of Nimh is far better value for most tots than Fantasia. It's actually the first film from Don Bluth Pro- DENNIS SMITH, ft MICH ABK JIAKNfci I would Nimh the mighty, but in the end it is their own simple decency and courage that wins the day (I said it was a fantasy). Best of all is the gallery of rather disarming characters, played out by some of the best voices in the business. Dora de Luise is a whacko crow with a kind heart and an erratic sense of direction; Derek Jacobi (I Claudius to you) is the wise and venerable leader of the Rats; the redoubta ble Hermoine Baddeley is Aunty Shrew, the crusty keeper of the field and John Caradine features in a typically striking se quence as the great wise owl. I found it rather a treat and the 10-year-old I took observed with some surprise that it was good fun.

Cynics of all ages should, however, steer clear.
