Ronald Olson, Chad and Teresa in Edina, Minnesota. They observed Chad's fifth birthday and also attended the Raspberry Festival parade at Hopkins, Minnesota. Mrs. Olson served as a judge of the parade. Vclma Block spent from Friday until Monday, August 3 visiting in the home of Mr.

and Mrs. Jack Jarmcs in South Milwaukee, Wis- JoEllcn Panoch returned home Friday after a week's visit in Elkader in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bell, Pam and Karla. Mr.

and Mrs. Sheldon Hall visited last weekend in the Carol Jones home in LaCrcscent, Minnesota. Their granddaughter, Danette Durnan, had just returned from a Ihree months trip lo Germany. Mr. and Mrs.

Gary Anderson, Clark and Nathan of Iowa City spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Luhman in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary. The Anderson family will leave soon for Knoxvillc, Tennessee where Mr. Anderson will resume teaching duties at the University of Tennessee School of Law.

Mr. and Mrs. Alan Beucher of Carle Place, New York arrived here Tuesday to spend a few days with Mrs. Anna Beucher. On Thursday, accompanied by Mrs.

Beucher, they left to spend some time in Colorado Springs and Monument, Colorado with the Charles Beucher and Charles Sonnkalb families. Julie Limkemann of Lansing spent last Thursday through Saturday in the Warren Barker home. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Schierholz have returned home from a ten day trip out West touring the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and visiting friends.

They toured the Vigcrtone plant at Fremont, Nebraska, visited Orvillc Schierholz at Sterling, Colorado; Dr. and Mrs. Paul Schierholz at Fort Collins, Colorado; Vernon Knight and Eugene Knight at Pueblo, Colorado and the Robert Nelsons at Buffalo, Wyoming. They also took in the square dancing at the Frank Lanes Square Dance Ranch at Estcs Park. They feel most fortunate that a change of plans on Saturday kept them from being in the Big Thompson Canyon where the flood took so many lives.

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Fctte of Waseca, Minnesota and Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Wclzel of Eldorado were Saturday guests of Mr.

and Mrs. Daymond Nuchring. Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Harnack accompanied by Mr.

and Mrs. Clifford Harnack, Renee and Laurie drove to Milwaukee August 2 where they crossed Lake Michigan to Ludington, Michigan. From there they drove to Sault St. Marie, taking a boat ride through the Soo locks then to Thunder Bay, Canada where they toured the large grain elevators. They returned home Thursday evening.

and Mrs. Clinton Lammcrt have returned from a ten day vacation to St. Louis and Omaha. In St. Louis, Mrs.

Lammcrt attended the International convention of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society where she served as a discussion leader at one of the workshop sessions. In Omaha, they visited in the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Lammcrt and Stephanie, Mr. and Mrs.

Kenneth Kamp of Decorah helped Albert Schultz celebrate his 74th birthday Sunday at his home in Clermont. Florence Meyer of Scottsdale, Arizona is visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eldo Gericke. Mrs.

James Brinda, David and Jennifer of Minneapolis spent Monday and Tuesday visiting in the John Falb, Jr. home in Postville and in the John 0. Falb home in West Union. Mrs. John Gutz and daughters of Cedar Rapids are also guests in the parental Falb home this week.

Douglas Wines and Thomas Sirreskie of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania spent Thursday apd Friday nights in the Leo McNally home as guests of Randy McNally. The two boys were on a cross-country bicycle tour having left Pennsylvania July 28. They left Postville Saturday morning with the intent of reaching San Francisco by August 26. Sunday evening visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs.

Eldo Gericke were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bugcnhagcn of Luana and Mr. and Mrs. Eldo Schutte.

Mr. and Mrs. Keith Kerr, Cindy, Scott and Kenneth attended the 31st International Flying Farmer Convention August 1-6 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Cindy represented Iowa in the Farmette Coronation Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Kerr (Verta) representing the Queen's Coronation Thursday evening.

Keith was a delegate at the business meeting and also a teen advisor. There were approximately 2000 people and 400 airplanes at the convention. Among the exhibitors at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines this month will be the Lenth Herefords with ten entries and Stanley Martins Hampshires with 14 entries. Mrs. Anna Ruckdaschel and Mrs.

Clara Vickery were in Waukon Tuesday morning where Anna visited Minnie Nagel and Mrs. Vickery attended the funeral of Alfred Webster who was a cousin of the late Mr. Vickery. Mrs. Lloyd Bruce and grandson David Volz left July 24 for Sacramento, California after spending a month between here and grandparents in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

Mrs. Bruce spent a week in Sacramento and a week in Denver with her son-in-law and daughter, returning to ''Cedar Rapids Sunday afternoon. She reported flying into Denver during the storm in Thompson. Radar was out and they couldn't land for three hours. It was necessary to fly to Grand Junction, Colorado to refuel and then on to Denver.

Mr. and Mrs. Owen Richardson and Robert of. Spring Grove, Illinois were Sunday visitors in the Keith Kerr home. The Richardsons were enroute home from the International Flying Farmer Convention in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Susan and Ron Haltmeyer with their grandmother Mrs. Ervin Haltmeyer accompanied Mrs. Gary Haltmeyer and son Kris on a scenic motor trip back to Pasadena, California. They returned by plane to Minneapolis, Minnesota, Friday where they were met by Mr. and Mrs.

Gene Haltmeyer. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wolfe of Baraboo, Wisconsin arc the parents of a baby son, Eric Alan, born July 30. Grandparents are Mr.

and Mrs. Cliff Olson and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Wolfe of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Mrs.

Olson visited from Tuesday until Saturday getting acquainted with the new arrival. Friends from Germany visited in the Ron Meyer home August 3. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sonstrom, Hartwig and Astrid of Recklinghausen, W.

Germany were guests for dinner as were Pastor and Mrs. Horst Hchr, Tim and Nathan of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Bernice Meyer, Postville. In the afternoon, the Sonstroms and Hehrs also visited the Louie and Alvin Erickson farm. Mr.

and Mrs. Ted Anderson accompanied Lloyd Bruce to the Cedar Rapids airport Sunday to meet Mrs. Bruce who was returning from Sacramento, California and Denver, Colorado. Mr. and Mrs.

Art Thoma, Mrs. Inez Kicsau and Roland Kiesau attended the Kiesau family reunion Sunday at Rock Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Bertie Waters and Robert, Bernard Waters, Marie Leui and Mrs.

Clara Vickery attended the Waters family picnic Sunday at the Washington Prairie church. Mr. and Mrs. H. C.

Luhman entertained relatives for dinner Saturday in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary, attending were Mr. and Mrs. Alton Sanderson of Ridgeway, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sanderson, Waukon; John Thompson and Mrs.

Ethel Anderson, Spillville; Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Sanderson and Mrs. Fred Koch of Decorah and Mr. and Mrs.

Gary Anderson and family of Iowa City. A picnic dinner was held Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hilcry Heins in honor of Mr. and Mrs.

Allan Bacon's 25th wedding anniversary. In addition to the honored guests were Jenny and Jerry Bacon, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Bacon and Staci, Mr. and Mrs.

Elliott Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bacon and family, Mrs. Mabel Rckow, Mr. and Mrs.

Keith Carlson, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Everman and Erica, Lynn Heins, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Schierholz, all of Postville.
