RETURN FROM TRIP Mr. and Mrs. Andy Morgan have returned home recently from a trip to California where they visited their son, Walter Morgan and family. They made the trip by train and car. Some of places visited while there included Santa Barbara, where they had a picnic, Camp Comfort, where they were present for a fish fry, Ventura Beach, Santa Paula, Los Angeles, Hollywood, Disney Land and other places of interest.

Mrs. A. B. Spradling of Arcadia and her daughter, Mrs. Charles Parker and children, Jimmy and Debbie, of Alvi came June 26 and visited over the weekend witn her sisters and families, Mrs Clayton Shaw and Mrs.

and James C. Haselden of Denver, have announced the birth of a son, eight pounds and five ounces, born June 20. The paternal grandparents am Floyd Haselden and Mrs. Leta Mae Offer, formerly of San Saba The father is a native of San Saba. Mr.

and Mrs. Frank Blakeney and daughter, Nancy, of Avenal, came Sunday, June 30, for a visit with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. M. H.

Perry Sr. Corral In Gift Tea Favors Mrs. Lowell Gage Mrs. Lowell Gage, a recent bride, was favored with a gift tea at the home of Mrs. W.

N. Moore Sunday afternoon from to 5 p.m. Other hostesses included Mmes. Roy Hendricks, Frank Shaw, Johnny Franklin, Max Mahan and Mack Hillin. The party rooms were decorated with seasonal flowers.

Receiving the guests with Mrs. Moore and the bride, nee Gradine Isham, were Mrs. Grady Isham, mother of the bride, Mrs. Med Gage, mother of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Roy Hendricks.

The refreshment table, covered with white cut-work linen ovei green, was centered with an arrangement of Fuschia gladioli and greenery. Miss Joan Ann Isham. sister to the bride, presided at the punch bowl while Miss Linda Hendricks served the cake squares. Miss Karen Moore presided at the gift display. About 40 guests called during the afternoon.

Mrs. Gage and her husband, both natives of San Saba, are liv 'ng at Arlington where she with the telephone company. Her husband is employ ed at Grand Prairie. 4-H Members Present Cherokee HD Program The Cherokee Home Demonstration Club met in the home of Mrs. Jim Epperson June for a program by Cherokee -i-H club members.

With Mrs. Albert Hiilsmeier, president, presiding, Don Hiilsmeier played a piano selection, followed by a reading. The roll call was answered by each member stating how she could help a 4-H member. Barbara Maddox and a Walker modeled their dresses which they had recently made for the 4-H dress revue. Refreshments of cake and ice cream were served to the group, including Mrs.

Albert Hiilsmeier and Kathy Sue and Don, Mrs. George Boultinghou'se, Mrs. Chas. McLerran, Mrs. Ellis Randolph and Jolene, Mrs.

Tax lor. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Golding experienced two very unusual incidents during their trip to attend a Ford Merchandising School Reunion held at Point Clear, recently. The reunion was Tor all students of the Southwest Region of the school and about 100 men and their wives were present for the festivities.

The reunion ia an annual event and will be held next year at Saa Antonio. En route to Alabama, Mr. and Mrs. Golding were stopped at Waynesboro, and were named the "Hospitality Couple" for this year. Golding said that they were overnight guests of the town and were royally entertained.

Their pictures were taken and will appear in The Wayne County News. The Business and Professional Women's Club was Miss Nancy Walker Plans Home Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Hilly D. Walker of Cherokee have announced the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, to Ray Rawls, son of Mr.

and Mrs. R. L. Rawls of San Saba. The bride-elect is a graduati of Cherokee High School, San Angelo Junior College and Shannon School of Nursing of Sat: Angelo.

She, registered nurse, is employed at the San Saba Memorial Hospital. The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of San Saba High School and served some time in the United Stales Military Service. He took his basic training at Anti-Aircraft Artillery Replacement Training enter, Ft. Bliss. The wedding has been planned lor August 17 at the home of the parents of the bride-elect.

VISITS HOME Jack Kdmondson of Galveston and his son, 'Jack Edmondson Jr. of Austin, have been visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Kdmondson, for the past weeks. Hoth have been occupied while here as Jack Kdmondson has been painting his father's home and his son underwent a tonsilectomy at the local hospital.

They expected to return home today, Thursday, July Mr. and Mrs. A. Manna of San Angdo and granddaughter, Adrian lie Dyer, of l.ubbock, came Monday, June 24. for an overnight visit, with Mr.

and Mrs. Carson Kdmondson and familv. i sponsors for the hospitality program in that city and it was said that Mr. and Mrs. Golding wera the first couple the club had selected from Texas.

The other unusual experience was being marooned at a 9 Charles, during the recent visit of Hurricane Audrey on that city, when they were enrouta home. Golding said that they had kept constantly posted by radio regarding the storm and since radio reports stated that a storm would not reach that city before another day, they decided to spend the night, Wednesday, June During the night, the hurricane struck a full blow on the town and they were unable to leave their room the next morning, was Friday before they were able to leave the city and return home. They were unabla to go out for food at first, nor was there any lights or power for utilities.
