Mr. Zirpoli died last Wednesday at his home in Phoenix. "Daniel Zirpoli had a vision for the city of Phoenix to have a nationally renowned museum," according to Teresa Coury-Davia, the museum's director of public relations and marketing.

David Goodcll, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Museum, added, "Daniel gave the museum structure and made it ready to move forward." That movement will begin this spring with the groundbreaking for the new Science Museum. Mr. Zirpoli was appointed executive director of the Museum of Science and Technology in Phoenix in 1987.
