E. A. (Maggie) Southworth, 85. died Thursday in New York City following two years of failing health. The body will be brought to Whitehall and funeral services will be held at the Johnson Funeral Home at 2 p.

m. Monday, Oct. 8, the Rev. Fletcher Bennett of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Earl W. (Margaret) Brandenberg of New York City, and one granddaughter. Mrs. Southworth is a former resident of Whitehall, having moved from here about 35 years ago.

MRS. JOHN STEINMETZ JLA FAROE, Wis. Mrs. John Steinmeti, 68. died at her home here Oct.

Mrs. Steinmeti, as Susie Bell, was born April 29. 1883, at Soldiers Grove, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Davenport.

She was married to John Steinmetz April 27, 1899. She is survived by her husband and three sons, William and Bert of Ln Farge and Frank, who is stationed in Greenland. She also is survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. WILLIAM KING WHITEHALL, Wis. (Special) services were held at Lincoln Cemetery Thursday for William H.

King, 60, who died Sept. 30 at a hospital in Chicago. Funeral services were held at a chapel in Chicago, the Rev. Vernon Ryding officiating, and were then shipped here for burial in the R. R.

Langworthy lot. King was born Jane 22, 1891, at Marinette, Wis. On April 27, 1950, he married Mrs. Pearl Winchester, daughter of Mrs. R.

August Pohll, was born Sept. 4, 1889, at Milwaukee. She served as a teacher in Lutheran schools at Oshkosh and Kenosha. She was married in Kenosha Aug. 19, 1913, to August Gurgel, who survives her.

Also surving are three sons, the Rev. Karl Gurgel, Caledonia, Ernest, Milwaukee, and the Rev. Roland, New Ulm, three daughters. Mrs. Oscar (Margaret) Lindemann, Manitowoc, Mrs.
