Bob Hughes, Tom Oliver and Jane Harders. Ray Burgess and Mike Meade will be co-hosts of ABN 2's teenage series Flashes, which will be screened each weekday at 5.30 pm, beginning today. According to George Pugh, the executive producer, this second series of Flashez will emerge with an entirely new look. "Our later time slot is because of enormous viewer demand," he said. "For our older and potentially larger audiences we have introduced some new, interesting segments.

"Flashez will provide a wide range of pop culture, not just the Top Ten. One innovation is a Request Line in which we'll select a viewer's letter asking for a particular pop film clip, screen it and afterwards Ray will talk about it. "Because the ABC shows many hours a week of quality schools and information programs, Flashez will continue as a purely entertainment program," Pugh said. Ray Burgess and Tony Nielsen, the director, have spent several weeks in the US filming interviews with 20 top artists and groups for the series. Burgess says Flashez received such a reactino from their interviews with local and overseas guests last year, they decided to combine with EMI to try for more exclusive interviews with leading stars.

"Stevie Wonder, Kiss. Wild Cherry and Silvers are some," he said. Sportsflash is another new segment in the series. It involves a different view of various sports through the eyes of an expert in the field. printed and published by Fairfax 4 Sons Limited, of Jones Street.
