W. Compton and Robinson. The Finance Committee composed of Miss Dixie Ballard, Mrs. A. T.

Lancaster and Miss Ruth Robinson gave a report on the Club sponsoring a Concert by the Stamps Quartet of Dallas. This entertainment of sacred music will be held in the City Auditorium on Thursday evening, April 15, 1948, beginning promptly at 8:00 p. m. Tickets may be purchased from any member of the club. Mrs.

Sparks Jenkins gave a report on, the Mexia Town Hall program, the many opportunities it will offer the public to hear and see outstanding artists and lecturers, and urging ail members to obtain their tickets immediately. The Constitution and By-Laws of the Club was reviewed by Mrs. E. T. Lucas, after which refreshments were served to some fifteen members.

Miss Wiljiamson And Chas. Haddick Marry April 8 Miss Peggy Williamson, of Corpus Christi, became the bride of Charles A. Haddick. also of Corpus Christi, in a ceremony which took place at 4 o'clock in the afternoon on April 8 in the home of the bridegroom's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

D. A. Haddick, 301 East Roberts Street in Mexia. Immediately after the ceremony the bridal couple left for a wedding trip to National City, California. Upon their return to Texas, the couple will make their home in Galveston where be will be employed with his father; Dan M.

John Bennet, Jr. Honored on Fourth Birthday April 8 John Bennett, celebrated his fourth birthday anniversary on Thursday, April 8 and was honored on the occasion with cowboy party given by his parents at their home, 209 South Canton Street. The little guests, attired in cowboy togs, arived at 4 o'clock for a delightful play hour in the spacious back lawn.

Many photographs were made of the group as they played about the la.vn. At the refreshment hour the children were invited ii -o the house where ice cream Jino cake were served in the dining room from a table decorated in Keeping with the cowboy theme. Laid with a gay red bandana handkerchief cloth, the table was centered with miniature replicas a cowboy and his horse against a background of bridal wreath. Placed at one end of the board was the birthday cake which was in the form of a horse shoe decorated with colored gumdrops for the nailheads and lighted by four candles burning in tiny plastic horse candleholders. The eake rested on circular mirror outlined with a band of "cattle brands." Miniature spurs, guns, a saddle and lariat were placed at the opposite end of the table to complete the setting.

Favors were miniature plastic- horses. Enjoying the party with John were Bob Hamilton, Mary and Judy Martin, Kay Christoffer, Charlotte Dene and Fred Carrington.
