fBrxta Batht Friday Club Hears CoflvenNon Report, Modern Poets Discussed At Meeting The Woman's Friday Club met in Oibbs Memorial Library Friday, April 3rd, with Mrs. John Sanders, President, pre A report froth the Capitol District Convention of the Texas Federation of Women's CSubs was given by Mrs. Jimmy Porter who was the Club's delegate to the Convention. She told Of the activities of clubs in the District and reported that the Year Book of the Woman's Fri day Club had received a grade of 97 and that the Club had received 4 awards: Best Senior Club Report, 2nd Place for Best Report of all Clubs, first Place for program on Law Enforcement and Crime Prevention, and an award for 100 per cent in Bubacripttons to "The Texas Clubwoman." Mrs. Clark Clinton gave a report on National WildMfe Week.

The ClUb will sponsor a boy to attend Boys' State in June, the selection of the person to be made by a Committee from the American Legion and the Mexia High School. It was announced that Fred Carrington will be the recipient of the sponsorship and that he will attend State with Jimmy fleas, who is sponsored by the American Legion. A parade, which depicts the early days of the town, officially opens the eVent on Saturday at to a.m. This year's parade is in commemoration of the Civil War Centennial.
