Program development for Wabash Valley Technical Institute during the next five years will 'ollow a systematic approach. A need for the proposed curricu. will be established. Programs selected for possible adoption may be suggested by student interests, employment opportunities, sociological and environmental problems, and oc cupational changes. As potential curricula are brought to the attention of administration, a preliminary cost analysis and facilities utilization study will be made.

If it is ascertained that the program could be offered under existing or foreseeable conditions, a definable need will be substantiated or negated by one or more of the following methods: the advice of a technical advisory committee, a written survey of potential employers, documented evidence of student interest, a projected need extrapolated from federal or state legislation, and a manpower shortage in a particular area as evidenced by state employment statistics. After a need is established, specific courses within the program will be selected by estab lishing performance objectives capable of measurement in behavioral terms. The courses will be sequenced to fit a logical progression of Knowledge with adequate provision for reinforcement and remedial classes will be offered for programs requiring a prerequisite knowledge in mathematics or communications skills. Jnder the direction of Sister Harie Brendan Harvey, S.P., the group will perform in six cities including high schools, air force bases, and special performances. A Sunday morning program Jan. 17, highlights the start of the tour as the group sings at the 10:30 morning service at the new Catholic Cathedral in St. Louis. While the Chorale will in the city, also tape a program on ABC-TV for Sunday viewing.

Then the tour moves to Fort Leonardwood, JopHn, Oklahoma City and Lavvton, Oklahoma; and Wichita Falls, Texas. An evening program in Evansville, Ind. full Chorale with several numbers and the Madrigals, a smaller group of select voices, will also perform during tha program. Sister Marie Brendan Harvey, professor of music at Saint Mary of the Woods College organized the tour. She is currently the National Vocal Chairman of the National Catholic Music Education Association.

She has served as music program assistant in the Music Education department at the University of Wisconsin and. as music coordinator at the University Catholic Center during the 1969-70 school year. This year's tour is not the for the College singers. In previous years, the Chorale has traveled to Washington, Boston, Cleveland, and to Montreal for Expo '67. The Saint Mary of the Woods College singers received national attention when they sang at the Bar Mitzvah of Seth Cohen in Spring of 1969 and CBS News carried excerpts of the Terre Haute program.
