The last of the tower cranes has flown the coop at the Flamingo Hilton Laughlin in preparation for the property's August 1 opening. "The removal of the last crane from the property signals the progress we have made since our topping off last January," said Gary Gregg, vice president and general manager of the Flamingo Hilton Laughlin. "We are in the final countdown to our August 1 grand opening." At the height of construction activity for the $190 million property, there were four tower cranes at work on the property.

Some 70,000 square yards of forms were used to complete the twin 18-story towers. Over 700,000 pounds of rebar and 3,200 tons of steel are used in the buildjng.
