16 THE SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, MONDAY. FEBRUARY 14, 1938. TABULATED RESULTS OF THE EMPIRE GAMES. REWARD FOR A THIRSTY CYCLIST. YACHTING.

KOONYA AND ERA WIN. PLACINGS AT COMPARISON OF VARIOUS RECORDS. AUSTRALIA HEADS THE LIST. UNOFFICIAL ESTIMATE OF PLACE POINTS. There Is no official scoring points In the Empire Games, but, as In the Olympic Games, six places In most of the events are taken.

The points are not necessarily a true reflex of merit. Australia, for example, heads the point score because of the number of minor placlngs In certain events, partly due lo the fact that It had more competitors In those events. In compiling points for reference, newspaper writers throughout the world usually allot the points 10, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. On this basis, the points are: TRACK AND FIELD. Tlx appended table shows the placing in the various sections ot the British Empire Games.

Where possible, the winners' performances are compared with the Empire Games, world, and Australian records. ATHLETICS. GOLF. FINE ROUNDS. Ferricr and Mrs.
