Dave Patterson and Deborah will anchor for Channel 10. Regular, programming will resume at 11 p.m. but will be interrupted as the need arises.

NBC affiliate KPNX-TV (Channel 12)' Matlock and Crime Story will air between 7 and 9 p.m., but cut-ins are' planned. A half-hour of election information is planned for 9 p.m. with Vince Leonard and Bill Stull, followed by 30 minutes from: NBC. Local coverage will pick up at 10 p.m. with Kent Dana and Patti Kirkpatrick.

SIN affiliate KTVW-TV (Channel 33) SIN will supply five-minute hourly cut-ins starting at 6 p.m., piggybacked by local reports at five minutes past the hour. SIN plans a half-hour newscast at 10 v. p.m., with Channel 33 adding a half-hour, at 10:30 p.m. Sergio Pedroza will anchor. Eisner said KJZZ will serve as custodian for the library and will dispose of albums and CDs in a manner "most beneficial to the classical audience." The implication is that if the Federal Communications Commission awards ASU the license, the library will be passed on to the university.

KJZZ raised approximately $80,000 in listener contributions for a new station, but it stopped campaigning for new funds when ASU decided back in the spring to go after a license. Eisner estimated that it may be a year before the FCC awards the license. Will KJZZ put the donation to use in the interim? General Manager Carl Matthusen said it is unlikely. "We decided when we went into this project that we would not split formats. It wouldn't be fair to the people who are supporting jazz," he said.

ELECTION RESULTS Whether faltering network revenues, lack of interest by the electorate or the simple fact the presidency isn't up for grabs is the reason, network viewers will be getting some regular programming tonight in addition to election news. On a station-by-6tation basis: ABCKTVK-TV (Channel 3) Who's the Boss? will be on at 7 p.m., followed by 90 minutes of election coverage. Moonlighting will air at 9 p.m., but, because of cut-ins, won't end until after 10 p.m., meaning that the competition already will have presented the top stories by the time election coverage resumes. By having Moonlighting slop over the top of the hour, Channel 3 is hoping viewers will stay with the station for election returns. Coverage will continue as long as necessary, with Cameron Harper and Heidi Foglesong anchoring.

Independent KPHO-TV (Channel 5) -The station plans cut-ins with Larry Martel during the 7 p.m. movie, WarGames, offering a newscast at 9:30 with Linda Turley and Roger Downey. Cut-ins will continue after 10 p.m. PBS outlet KAET-TV (Channel 8) -Horizon at 7 p.m. will be devoted to the election, with coverage resuming at 10 p.m.

Michael Grant will anchor. CBS affiliate KTSP-TV (Channel 10) -Network coverage starts -nationally at 6 p.m., but Channel 10 won't join in until 7 Affiliated Broadcasting followed up Monday on a promise made in March by donating a classical music library to non-commercial newsjazz KJZZ (FM91.5). The 306 compact discs and 10,503 albums belonged to the original KONC (FM 101.5). KJZZ will use them if and when it receives federal permission to operate a classical sister station. Doug Berle, general manager of Affiliated Broadcasting's KAMJ (1230 AM) and KAMJ-FM (101.5), said the library included 3,300 imported albums and many that are out of print and extremely rare.

He said appraiser Jeff Weinstein reported the albums to be in "very good to excellent" condition, and that the library is valued at $101,600. KAMJ and KAMJ-FM made their debut seven months ago after the company decided to scrap classical programming in favor of an adult contemporary format and drop the KONC call letters. The call letters and the format later were picked up by former country station KMZKCFM 106.3). Affiliated Broadcasting will be able to write off the donation, but Berle said that the significance of the donation lies in its fulfillment of a commitment Affiliated made to the Valley's classical-music listeners. "We're very happy to have it," said Paul Eisner, chancellor of the Maricopa County Community College District, which operates KJZZ, in accepting the donation.

"KJZZ will take physical possession as soon as possible." When, and even where, the records might be put to use isn't known, because both KJZZ and Arizona State University are seeking the license to operate a non-commercial classical station at 89.5 on the FM band.
