fMUMGAY, MAY •*, 1966 ALOONA (low.) ADVANCES . By Abigail Van Boren (Copyright 1966 by Chicago Tribune - N. Y. New* Synd., Inc.) DEAR ABBY: What is wrong with a woman who will let a man walk all over her? My neighbor has married the .same man TWICE. They are divorced now, and like a fool, < she is considering marrying him again. They don't have any children to stay together for. She doesn't need a man to support her as she makes more than he does. He treats her like dirt. If you can tell me what she needs this good for nothing, arrogant, two-timer for, you aro a genius. "THE ONE SHE CRIES ON" DEAR ONE: I can't tell you, but you can take my word for it, the needs him for something. Even if it's only to "punish" her. To each his own. Some people's idea of happiness is having something to "suffer" for. It's a pathological quirk. DEAR ABBY: I haven't a love problem, but 1 want to know the answer to something that has been bothering me. My son recently married a woman who was married before and had a child by her first husband. My husband legally adopted the little girl. Now, that child isn't really my granddaughter, is she? She already has two grandmothers as her mother's mother is still living and so is her real father's mother. So if she already has two grandmothers, where do I fit in? I don't get it. WHAT AM 1? DEAR WHAT: When your son adopted the child, he became a father, and you became a grandmother. DEAR ABBY: What is your opinion of a person who is constantly correcting others in public about the pronunciation of words and their use? All involved in this situation are adults. Thank you. CORRECTED. DEAR CORRECTED: The constant corrector is showing him ignorance, it is infinitely more important to be KIND than correct. CONFIDENTIAL TO "MAKING THE BEST OF IT": If you can't bring yourself to discuss such an intimate problem with your doctor, clergyman or a marriage counselor, run, do not walk, to your nearest book store and get "A DOCTOR SPEAKS ON SEXUAL EXPRESSION IN MARRIAGE," by D. W. Hastings, M. D., (Little, Brown, publishers). Putting prudishness aside, this straight-talking psychiatrist says in 155 pages of plain English what every married couple should know.
