The Australian Equestrian team will slart a hot favorite to make a clean sweep of the two Tests when they face a New Zealand team at Waikanae on Sunday.

The Australians, four riders and five horses, started their tour 10 weeks ago. They have competed in a series of three-phase horse trials and have won consistently. Their first Test victory was achieved at Auckland early this monlh in a three-day trial, and they filled the first three places Their performances are of international standard and the tour is expected to do a great deal for New Zealand horse trial exponents. It is in this sphere, rather than in straight-out show jumping, that many feel New Zealand's best hopes of Olympic equestrian honors lie. The Australian horses, still holding their form at the end of a demanding tour, are a high disciplined group, but relaxed, and unorthodox in their approach to the cross-country phase.

All five have done well on the tour, and their New Zealand form is such that it it difficult to single out one as the best prospect. The team is Daddy Long-legs (Jock Roberts), Bren-tone (John Craddock), Nam-arack (Trevor Cooper), and Regal Heir, ridden by team captain Merv Bonnet. Ben-net's other horse, Regal Fight, will also contest the forest gate trophy but will not be a team horse. AAP. in tne presente 01; O'BR YAN.
