In the second game, he rolled 11 straight strikes. > ' i L Egg — An exceptionally large goose egg, a "double yolker" was laid by a goose belonging to Leroy Johnston who farms two and a half miles north of Deep River. The egg weighed 11 ounces. The. 1966 4-R basketball tourney ended at the Burt high school last week with the Whittemore Boys and the Grant Hustlers collecting championships. ~ . : In the first game, a postponed senior game was played with the tail'Grant Hustlers team edging past a ' determined Swea-Harrison team, 74-62. Tom Anderson and Ray Govern collected 22 and 19 points to lead the winners with Jeff Newlin and Randy Newlin bagging 20 and 19 points. The Junior championship was a hard fought contest with a very aggressive Fenton team putting up a terrific battle against, the taller ! ;Whittemore team/ Some sharp shooting by Fenton's Gary Laabs, who had 12 points, kept the game close until the last quarter when Whittemore pulled away to win 3627. Jim Elbert shoved home 15 points to lead his team.
