United Pratt International LOS ANGELES Funeral services were conducted Friday at Mount Sinai Memorial Park in Los Angeles for veteran character actor Sidney Clute, who portrayed Detective Paul LaGuardia on the television series Cagney Lacey the past four seasons. Clute, 69, died Wednesday at Sf John's Hospital in suburban Santa Monica, after a long battle with cancer, which had kept him from appearing in new episodes of the CBS series, a publicist for the show said. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Clute received his early training in summer stock.

He moved to Hollywood in the 1950s, making his television debut with George Reeves in the 'Superman television series. He made frequent appearances Playhouse 90 and was a regular cast member of Dragnet, McCloud, and Lou Grant His motion pictures included sap?
