THE HEARNE DEMOCRAT, FRIDAY, AUGUST 16, 1946 BISHOP, Society Editor Baptist Church Scene Of Baker-Farrar Wedding In a double ring ceremony at the First Baptist church at 6:00 o'clock Saturday evening, Miss Virginia Farrar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Farrar of Alhambra, California was married to Kenneth Baker, son of Mrs.

Evelyn Baker of Hearhe. Rev. C. W. Sanders read the marriage service as the couple stood before an arrangement of white gladioli and ferns' illumined by white candles in branched candelabra.

Miss Julia Ann Smith played the traditional wedding marches and accompaniment for Mrs. J. B. Moody who sang the bridal solo, "0 Perfect Love." bride chose a street length' dress of- white eyelet embroidery, with which she wore a fingertip veil of illusion adjusted to a halo of tube roses, and carried a white Bible top- with white gladioli and showered with fern and tube roses. Her only attendant, Mrs.

Arlen Henry of Houston, cousin of the bridegroom, served as matron of honor wearing a street dress of white and corsage of pink gladioli. Arlen Henry was best man and ushers were Thad McGar Hood and George Palmos. The bride's mother wore a dress of grey sheer with corsage of white baby asters. The groom's mother was in black sheer with a pink aster corsage. At the reception in the church an- nex following the ceremony, Miss Shirley Pardo and Mrs.

Bill Arring- toh presided at the bride's table! which held an arrangement of white flowers and the three tier wedding cake which was served with punch. When Mr. and Mrs. Baker left for a train Houston and Galvesr ton, the bride was wearing an aqua suit with white accessories. The bride was graduated from Alhambra, California High School, attended Pasadena Junior College before entering the University of Redlands, California.

Mr. Baker as member of the U. S. Navy Reserve Officers Training Corps, served with a unit at the University of- California. Before transferring to UCLA he served at Corpus Christi, Texas and semester of Navy V-12 training at the University of Redlands.

At conclusion of their wedding trip, the couple will be at home in Hearne. Mullins-Schulze Miss Grace Mullins and Mr. Gus A. Schulze of San Antonio were Saturday night in the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Dillard and Mack Hoyt entertained with a gift party at the Brady home on Friday evening from 8 to 10 o'clock. One hundred guests were received into rooms made gay with a variety of summer flowers to be greeted by the bride-elect, Mrs. E. M. Brady and mothers of the affianced couple.

Bowls of zinnias adorned the mantel, and the table used for the display of gifts.

A purse of $207.00 in cash was made up for the couple as wedding gift. Mrs. Arcotta entertained the guests with a group of songs and poetry which was well received and applauded. This brought out in part her versatility and talent as an entertainer. Dancing was also enjoyed throughout tho evening.
