1987t HOM F1VB .1 I FORMER CORSICANA ATTORNEY BANQUET SPEAKER TONIGHT Dexter Hamilton, prominent Dallas attorney, former Corslcanan, and graduate of tho University of Texas, will be the principal speaker at tho annual March 2 banquet meeting of the Navarro County University of Texas Ex-Students' Association at the Navarro Hotel Tuesday night at 7'30 o'clock. W. P. Murchison, local president will preside, Sadie Ransom will apeak on "Higher Education." Officers for the ensuing year will be elected. Other features of the program will include a Bong by Mrs.

J. N. R. Score of Port Worth doing the preaching, promise to be one or the high lights of the series of sermons being preached at this revival, Monday morning's service was off to a fine start with 107 present. These morning services will run each day through Friday and will last exactly one hour.

Monday morning Mrs. Terry Sutton presided at the piano, prayer was given by Rev. J. F. Adams, pastor of the Eleventh Avenue Methodist church, and Rev.

T. Edgar Ncal, the pastor, presided. Dr. Score in his morning theme stated that people, including church members, were discounting the terrible results of sin, and said the church was ineffective on account of the lives those who called themselves Christians lived. A good-sized Monday night congregation heard Dr.

Score preach another strong sermon, music was furnished by the full choir under direction of Edward F. Hearn, and Mrs. L. S. Cooper brought tho message in a finely rendered solo.

Prayers were given by Dr. C. R. Gray, presiding elder of the Corsicana district and by 'Rev. W.

V. Bane, Methodist pastor at Barry. There were 33 stewards present Monday night, which Rev. T. Edgar Neal, the pastor, stated was a fine showing from this body.

Potts Gillcsple, aged 77 years, long-time city employee and resident of Corsicana for the past 50 years, who died Monday morning at 7 o'clock, were held Tuesday afternoon at -2 o'clock from the family home, 404 South Twentieth street. Interment was made in Oak wood cemetery. The rites were conducted by Rev.

W. R. Hall, pastor of. the First Presbyterian church. Surviving are three sisters, Misses Willie, Nancy and Annie Gllles- pie, all of Corslcana; a brother, Felix Glllespie, Long Beach, a nephew, Campbell Gillesple, Corsicana, and other relatives.
