The Gordon MacRae Celebrity Golf Classic benefits the National Council on Alcoholism. Now in its third year on the Las Vegas Strip, the Classic has become associated with some of the biggest names in show business and entertainment. In fact, the rapidly-expanding tournament may soon be one of the top draws in Las Vegas, joining championship boxing, racing, tennis, bowling and LPGA golf.

"We have a wonderful event played at the best time of the year in Las Vegas," said host Gordon MacRae, "and I have given the National Council on Alcoholism (NCA) my personal commitment to make it major league in every respect." For three fun-filled days, participants in the MacRae Classic will mingle with celebrities during daytime competition for golfers, special events for non-golfers and evening festivities. "It's really an experience I feel everyone will enjoy. It's a family show, and that's what makes this such a great presentation." Showtimes for "Spellcaster" are 9 p.m.

and 12 midnight with Mondays dark. Danny Hein and Terri Dancer bring to the Galaxy Lounge of the Landmark Hotel one of the most exciting lounge shows to hit Las Vegas in years. Energy and excitement, that's the key to success for this electrifying ebony and ivory team from the Bahamas and the Florida Keys. With four totally different shows, they seem to cover the total spectrum of musical energy developed in the past 40 years. This unique duo has many costume changes and set decorations as they are well aware that visual effects are as important as audio.

The "Nassau" Band is made up of five experienced show musicians capable of backing Danny Terri with all the musical power needed to produce the energy level of the big horn bands to the synthetic sounds of today's computer technology. Danny Hein and Terri Dancer have arrived in Las Vegas where they belong with an idea and commitment to bring excitement and energy through production back to lounge shows. The way it was, is the way is is with Danny Hein and Terri The talented MacRae still finds time to perform regularly in traveling companies and in special engagements and critics say his deep, distinctive voice is as good as ever. By Steven McCann Zula Wolfram and the Landmark Hotel and Casino opened one of the most advanced shows ever presented at the hotel last week. The "Spellcaster" starring incomparable Roy Clayborne.

Clayborne, in making his main room debut at the Landmark, has chosen the right vehicle for his debut. Larry Hart, 1979 Grammy Award Winner, was hired to design a show which would present every facet of Clayborne's talent. With "Spellcaster," Hart has not only designed a tremendous show, but has been able to come up with "the utimate visual experience." "We wanted a production that would move us past the 21st century, yet keep it within today's visual encounters," Hart explained. "Clayborne has a tremendous vocal range, an unusual appearance and most of all he is a "Spellcaster." The show opens with a Nija ballet with male dancers doing Karate leaps and a fight scene with silver sabers. The mystic lighting effects in the opening scene set the mood for the entire show.

Clayborne' is in complete command of the show singing 15 songs throughout Among the songs presented by Clayborne is "Love Lifts Us Up," "Passion," "Love on the Rocks," "Johnny Be Good" and "Great Balls of Fire." Running time for the show is one hour and 20 minutes. It is the first time he has played Caesars Palace in a year and is also the only hotel Willie Nelson fans. Willie Nelson himself is a study in contrast He has performed his anthem, "On The Road Again' at the White House with former President Carter and seen the song taken up by the Republican Party when President Reagan was nominated. He's been performing on that same road for 2i years but it took 24 of those years before th4 Country Music Association named him Entertainer of the Year.

He has double platinum albums of himself singing such songs as "Over The Rainbow and "Stardust" (definitely non-country material) and yet two decades ago nobody was buying Willie Nelson's dry, reedy tenor on record. in the country in which he performs. People have long since stopped looking askance at the idea of country singing, long-haired, bandana topped Nelson headlining one of Vegas' top nightspots. He's played there before and drew big audiences, both his own denim clad cowboys and the more formal Vegas tourists. Contrasting sets of Dancer.

East took two diamonds and led a diamond to the queen. South then knew he could find out who had the queen of hearts.

South led the king of clubs to drive out West's ace and this told him that East had the queen of hearts. The early play showed that West had the A-K of spades and East the A-K of diamonds. If either opponent had both the ace of clubs and the queen of hearts his hand would be well worth an opening bid. Since neither opponent had made an opening bid, the ace of clubs and the queen of hearts were surely divided. As soon as South discovered who had the ace of clubs he knew that the other opponent had the queen of hearts.
