They sing "Gatlin" music which Larry explains as "Country-oriented music done our way." The Gatlin crew performs without the benefit of fancy footwork, flashy lights or ostentatious outfits just family harmony, dynamite lyrics and good instrument playing. With Larry Gatlin, who has written every song the band sings, song writing is an instinct. The opening number, "Broken Lady," is exemplary of the harmony and heartache lyrics that he writes best. A musically self-contained group, the Gatlins demonstrate pure team effort with favorites "Midnight Choir" and "All The Gold In Californa" and climax the show with an unexpected rendition of "Allelujah" sung acap-pella. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8 p.m. and a cocktail show at midnight. The Anne Murray Gatlin Brothers show continues through June 23. The Village People and Joan Rivers follow June 24. ;; . x . He will also present a new discovery, youthful juggler-comedian, James Gatlin Brothers Band opened last Thursday in the Riviera's Versailles Theatre. Anne Murray is a star who shines without glitter. Even though she's just like that nice girl next door, her shelves sag under the weight of three Grammy Awards, six gold and two platinum albums, and sixteen Juno Awards which has prompted the "Toronto Sun" to suggest the Junos' be renamed the "Annies." Conveying a natural stage personality that is smooth as silk, her and end much too soon. Introducing herself as the "happy hoofer," Miss Murray sings and dances to "Everything Old Is New Again" and stirs memories with "Daydream Believer," originally sung by Davy Jones of The Monkey's fame. "Snowbird,"which made her an international star, is dedicated to fellow Canadians with the finale number, "Could I Have This Dance?" dedicated to her audience.
