4A THE BELLEVILLE TELESCOPE, Thursday, December 12, 1991 Republic, Jewell County Women Attend National WIFE Convention Members of the local Women Involved in Farm Economics chapters attended the 15th national convention in Bismarck, No. Dak. November 13-16. Leading the Kansas delegation were Nancy Spiegel, Formoso, national WIFE treasurer, and Shirley Roe, Courtland, Kansas WIFE president. Also attending were Edith Soash, Mankato; Helen Aurand, Courtland, and Deanna Hobelmann, Republic.

Husbands of WIFE members were among the 55 "HOWS" attending. From Kansas these included Richard Spiegel, Formoso; Charles Soash, Mankato, and Dean Hobelmann, Republic. HOWS attended speaker sessions, and toured agricultural and manufacturing sites in the area. Touchstone Club Travels to Concordia Touchstone Junior Federated Club met in November at the Goose Crossing, then traveled to Concordia where they toured the home of Dr. and Mrs.

Richard Goppert Family Has Reunion in California A Goppert family reunion was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Goppert at the San Diego Marriott Hotel over the Thanksgiving weekend. Guests mcluded: his family: Mr. and Mrs.

Guests returned home December 1. Kueker. Members returned to the Goose Crossing for the business meeting. A successful crafts fair was the main topic. Tyra Frye, proprietor, served beverages.

Mrs. Don Anderson served as hostess. Altar Society Discusses Christmas Activities St. Isidore Altar Society of Cuba met Sunday, December 8 at the Legion Hall with 16 members answermg roUcall. Material was read by tne president, Mrs.

Marvin Brungardt on the "March of Life" to Washington, D.C. The CYO wm present a live nativity scene December 15. Parish members will go caroling December 22. Gifts were presented to priests, class teachers and presidents, and children. The next meetmg is January 5.

Hubbell Mrs. Harry Stradley December 4-Moisture November 25 through December 1 was .31 inch, and for November, 2.57 inches. Marcia Luce, Sterling was a Friday visitor of Bessie Calhoun. Mr. and Mrs.

Gary Young were hosts Tuesday honoring his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Young on their S5lh wedding anniversary. Loretta Young of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs.

Jess Young were Thanksgiving guests in the Gary Young home, Hebron. The Jess Youngs with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hays of Winter Springs, Jeff Naysmth, Fremont; Jill Naysmith, Jim Persinger, Manhattan; Mr. and Mrs.

Edwin Hoops, Chester were Thanksgiving guests in the Kenneth Naysmith home, Byron. June Malloy spent November 23-25 with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Watt and family in Lincoln. Sunday they attended the play, "Whose Life is It, Anyway" by the Peru players of which Becky MaUoy is a member.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Koss hosted Thanksgiving November 24 for Mr. and Mrs. Don Koss, Narka; Sylvia Reynolds, Cuba; Mitch Miller, Lori and Travis, Lincoln; Eric Miller, Nebraska City; Bill Koss, Fairbury; Matt Koss, Mahaska; Levi Koss, Byron; Steve Vanderslice, and family, Omaha; Mr.

and Mrs. Greg Koss and family, Maison; Becky Miller, Aaron Baily, Peru; Bill Miller, Jody Koss, Hubbel; Wendy Nutsch, Byron. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kubes visited Adelaide Kubes in Geneva and were Sunday visitors of Mr.

and Mrs. Emil Jisa in Lincoln. Michael Watt spent a week with the Tom Malloy family after two months working in Scotland. Becky Malloy joined diem. Perry Werner and Corey of Merian, were visitors in the Virgil Werner home.

Judy Werner of Emporia joined them for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Blackwell of Fairbury joined them for Thanksgiving. Mr, and Mrs.
