Speakers included Auxiliary president Naomi Blair, who announced the local Auxiliary had received a department award for the most dues in percentagewise in by Oct. Commander George Elliott gave the welcome speech and introduced Dept. Sr. Vice Commander, Lloyd Rockne, Estherville, who is also the delegate for the Crippled Children's Camp, from Emmet, Kossuth and Humboldt counties. Commander John Apelhons of the 10th District received an award for being quota in membership by November 15. Commander George Elliot received an awaro for having the local Post 100% in membership. Post Department "President Patricia Albers, Buffalo Center, extended a thank you to the Post and Auxiliary. Commander Apel- hons, of; the .10th^District ,ta}fc- ed and; Jr. Vice Commander Leslie Peterson and ST. Vice President Lorraine Schoby were recognized. There was presentation of pins in recognition of continuous membership, with Inez Graham receiving a 15-year pin and Bernadine Hazelhoff receiving a 10-year pin. Mary Ann Davis and Dolores Holm each received 5-year pins. , * The main speaker was 10th District President Elsie Kvamsdale, also a member of the local unit. Music was by Mrs. George Elliot and Mrs. V. E. Hazelhoff. Lee Davidson of.the Swea City State bank was presented with a Community Service award. Mrs. Carlos Engelby chaplain of the local Auxiliary, deliver* ed the opening and closing prayers. Sons of the Post members served the meal. CHRISTMAS~PARTY , The Eagle-Ettcs 441 club had its Christmas party Saturday afternoon at the home 6f club leader, Mrs. Cecil Thoreson. Sixteen girls were present. Guests were new members Hiedi Thoreson, Lauri Thompson, Barbara Ezarske, Joy Geerdes. There was a gift exchange and the club sent a gift of $10 to the Algona school for the retarded. Jeannette Paul, 5, daughter of the Marlyn Pauls, spent last Wednesday and Thursday nights in the Fairmont Hospital for a tonsillectomy. She returned Friday. She is in Kindergarten in the Swea City school. Mrs. Willaim Tobin returned home after another five days as a patient at Fairmont hospital. She is at her daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Brones, to convalesce. Darrel Newlin and V. E. Hazelhoff went to Harlan last week for deer hunting Saturday through Monday. Mrs. Hazelhoff was a Sunday guest at the .Newlin home. Maxine Clark is spending three weeks at the parental Glenn Clark's from Covina, Calif. She is attending California Baptist Theological Seminar at Covina, where she is working for a master's degree in Religious Education.
