ilderness SYDNEY. The NSW Court of Appeal has ruled that the State Corporate Affairs Commission could cancel the registered business name, Rhodesia Information Centre. Three Judges of the court said yesterday that the name suggested connection with an external country and could not be registered without approval of the State Attorney-General. The judges said Mr. Den-zil Vaughan Bradley, who operated the Rhodesia Information Centre at North Sydney, had not obtained official permission from the Attorney General to use this business name.

The court dismissed an appeal by Mr. Bradley against a decision by Mr. Justice Sheppard in the Supreme Couvt last year that the Corporate Affairs Commission had power to cancel the centre's registration. One of the grounds of the appeal was that the name of the centre would not suggest to a reasonable person a connection with the Government of Rhodesia. Mr.

Justice Hutley said this claim disregarded Government policy to prevent citizens froni being misled by a business One meaning If there were any chance of people being misled by the name, it could not be registered without the Attorney General's consent. Mr. Justice Hutley said "Rhodesia Information Centre" had only one meaning: "Information centre of the Government of A certificate by the Prime Minister (Mr. Whit-lam) tendered in evidence said the Government of Australia recognised that Southern Rhodesia was one of Her Majesty's colonies, recognised the Government and Parliament of the United Kingdom had responsibility for Southern Rhodesia, and did not recognise Southern Rhodesia as a State. Justice Hutley said it was notorious that the will of the Government of the United Kingdom was set at nought in Rhodesia. The Prime Minister's certificate was conclusive for the court. Mr. Justice Reynolds and Mr. Justice Glass agreed.

to nidei The damage to the Tasmanian Government's coastal freighter, Straitsman, which heeled over and sank opposite No. 32 South Wharf on March 23, could be $1 million. The vessel was valued last year by its former owner, Captain R. H. House, at million.

y- The estimate of damage was made yesterday by the manager of the Hob-sons Bay Engineering Company, Mr. Ken Livingstone. His company will put the Straitsman in dry dock today to make her seaworthy. The Straitsman, pictured above, was yesterday towed to the dry dock at Williamstown. Mr.

Livingstone said the Tasmanian Government probably had to spend $100,000 in cleaning up before restoration could begin. "It's going to be a fiddly job getting her back in operation again. It could take six to nine months." Mr. Livingstone said there appeared to be little structural damage to the ship and he estimated it would be out of the dry dock in a few days. "Our main job will be to drain the cargo decks of water and possibly do some repair work on the hull," he said.

After the work is completed the Straitsman will be towed to No. 14 South Wharf where it will be decided where to carry out the internal repairs. Mr. Livingstone said it was possible the ship might be towed back to Tasmania for the repairs. proposing scrapping the orighial design was abandoned after strong opposition from, residents town Keilor's town- planning officer (Mr.

We will not sell building blocks individually and leave construction and design to the individual' owners," Mr. Klem mer said.

He said this was the first in-" stance in Melbourne where the Board of Works had acquired an entire area and had worked out in detail future development. Mr. Klemmer said Milleara Gardens could become a showpiece of modern housing trends. The area, known as Milleara Gardens, iies west of the Maribyr-nong River at Avondale Heights and ends at the intersection of Milleara and Buckley roads. Keilor city council has ap: proved Board of Works plans to redevelop it.

There will be about 200 home sites. Although subdivided since the. early 30s the estate still lacks essential services. Only about a third has been developed. The board's plan includes widening main roads leading to the estate, relocating sites for a huge shopping centre, a hotel, community facilities, recreational space and a ring road around the retail complex.

But it will not interfere with the basic Griffin design which makes provision for large open-space reserves in the centre of each block of houses. About 10 years ago soon after the board had acquired the area for redevelopment a scheme ki a KLM747B to Europe.
