THANKSGIVING - - This Year And Next' We are sometimes prone to take for granted those thing's we cherish and hold dear. What would happen if we were suddenly threatened with the loss of them? Suppose an enemy should invade our and and our liberties and freedom of thought and action were stifled—we were to be denied the freedom of choice in the Church we were to attend or to even .give thanks to God in any public meeting. ' The Pilgrim fathers did not take these prerogatives lightly, nor for granted. They braved hardship and danger, made sacrifices that most ot us today would shrink to assume. For what? To worship God as. they chose. Then, after they , had established themselves in the new land they did not forget, the cause for which they had come., They decreed a Thanksgiving. .._.,,.On^thia ,TJlanksgiv4ng Day letius emulate the "Pilgrim in the giving of our thanks Let us pl&e God first and each do our part in seeing that the blessings * given us through several centuries of struggle and strife are not lost through neglect or indifference.
