Estimates will be prepared on the first day of each month by the contractor, ond submitted to the engineer for approval, who will certify to the Board for payment each approved estimate ton or before the tenth (IOth) .day of the month in question. Such monthly payments shall in no way be construed as an act of acceptance for . any port of the work partially or totally completed. Final payment of the remaining ten per cent (10%) will be made thirty- one (31) days after completion of all work and acceptance thereof by resolution of the Board, subject to the conditions ond in accordance with the provisions of Chapter S73 of the Code of Iowa, 1966. No such partial or final payments will be due until the contractor has certified to the Board that the materials, labor and service involved In each estimate have been paid for in accordance with the requirements stated In the specifications. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a bond In an amount equal to one hundred per cent (100%) of the contract price, said bond to be issued by a responsible surety ond approved by the Board and shall guarantee the . faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained ond shall guarantee prompt payment for all materials and labor and protect antf save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contractor, ond shall also guarantee the work against faulty workmanship and materials for a period of two (2) years from ond after its completion ond acceptance by the Board. The work under the proposed contract shall be started by April 1, 1968, ond all work shall be completed on or before September I, 1961, subject to any extensions of time which may be granted by the Board. The Board reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any or all bids and to enter into such contract or contracts as it shall deem to be for its best interest. These improvements and extensions are being constructed pursuant to authority granted the Municipality under the provisions of Chapter 397 of the Code of Iowa 1966.
