Wapello Members of the Up- to-Dates enjoyed a dinner at the Commercial hotel Wednesday noon when Mrs. -Eva Deihl, Mrs. Kate Baker, Mrs. Millicent Hicklin and Mrs.

Nellie Guthrie as losers in the recent contests at Jtive hundred entertained the winners who are Mrs. Arthur Springer, Mrs. W. C. Archibald, Mrs.

H. B. Davison and Mrs. W. Grimes.

The after dinner hours were spent playing five hundred in the home of Mrs. Deihl. King's Hernlds Meet. Mrs. R.

Davison and Barbara Hook were hostesses to the King'b Heralds at the regular meeting Tuesday evening. Adrieune Morledge read the story, -'The Hare of Inaba." Refreshments were served. Urs. H. L.

Davison was hostess to tie H. G. Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Charles Stroup in charge of the program hour read some early history of Iowa.

Games and hour were enjoyed and refreshments served. The next meeting will be in the home of Mrs. Myrtle Dunlap. Funds for Belief. The sum of $530 was spent in Louisa county for unemployment relief during the month of September.

There were 32 unemployed families on 'relief at the beginning of the month and nine applications were received. Eleven cases were closed, leaving 32 active cases at the close of the month. Fifty-two families were given surplus commodities only. In addition to these there were 53 regular county cases include old people. Mrs.
