EIGHT THE BEE DANVILLE VA RIDAY MAY 10 1935 News of Boy and Girl Scout Organizations TROOP OUR The meeting of Troop our was held on Thursday night because of the play at the high school The meeting was called to order by the aenior patrol leader Charlee Booth The scout oath was led by Jack Sau erbeck and this was followed by Ben Mlles leading the troop in the scout law The lord's Prayer was led by Laurence urgurson Jr The troop was inspected by Assistant Scoutmas ter Lee Harley who announced that the Tiger patroj was the neatest pa trol and that Scott Jesse Clark was the neatest individual scout presentt the meeting After the short pa trol meetings in which the scribes collected the points in the patrol contest 'the different patrols began work on the nearly completed patrol rooms After the work period there was a short game period which was enjoyed by al! after the bard work The meeting was closed in the usual way with Miller Vernon leading in the scout bereditclon WILLIAM VERNON Reporter TROOP TWO The regular meeting of Troop Two Was opened by the senior patrol leader The colors were presentednd the soout oath law pledge of al legiance and the Prayer were repeated The roll was then callednd the troop paper distributed The troop was then dismissed to go to the patrol rooms During thia pe riod the dues were collected and many tests were passed A short in struction period followed at which time the younger scouts were taugh first aid and signaling Assembly was then blown and the troop went Into the recreation hall where scout contests were held and games were played The troop was then dismissed with the scout bene diction EDDIE YOUNG Scribe TROOP THREE Troop Three held its regular meet ing Monday May 6 at 7:30 o'clock There were eight scouts and two vis itors present The oath law and pledge were Jed by Jimmie Savage Malhon Elliott and Edward Bryant The roll was called and dues collect ed followed by a short talk by Scout master White The mottos that wera collect ed After the patrol meetings the Wolfe patrol went on an overnight hike which was a surprise to the lest of the troop The Wolves hiked to a cabin on the river banks near Turpin lake under the leadership of A Jordan and Huff The remainder of the troop had a regular meeting playing games and passing tests Troop Six has organized a base ball team and will accept any games with any troop that wants to chal lenge Troop Six Get in touch with James Huff or any member of Troop Six and the date will be settled Another surprise hike will be had soon for the Bob White patrol and the other members
