Mrs. Higgins was a past member of the Sweetwater Woman's club. During World War sh was a member nf the Air Civilian Corps served as observers for enemy planes. She also served as a social hostess director for soldiers at the Army camp in Bonita. Mrs.

Higgins was interested in youth activites and in horseback riding; often taking groups of young people riding. She also had an active interest in area civic problems. Mrs. Higgins met her husband, Fred, in 1924, they were married in 1925 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June. Two sisters and a brother, Louis Fahrlender of Chula Vista, survive in addition to her husband.

Memorial services -were Friday in Glen Abbey Memorial Park. Cremation was planned. Adelaide Russell Services were yesterday in Greenwood Mortuary Chapel for Adelaide E. Russell, 87, Jormrly fifwJ Chula Vista. Burial was in Glen Abbey Memorial Park.

Mrs. Russell, a native of Erie, and an area resident 32 years, died Friday in Glendora where she had been living the past two years with her She is survived by her son, Robert L. Lucretia Medlang Lucretia Victoria Medlang, 69, a county resident 65 years and sister of Juliet Kean of Chula Vista, died Saturday at her San Diego home. Services were Tuesday with entombment in Greenwood Mausoleum for Mrs. Medlang who was born in Minnesota. She was a member of Corinthian Chapter 358, Order of the Eastern Star, which officiated at Also surviving are two sons, John Day of San Diego and Charles Day of El Cajon; three brothers, including Robert Ely of San Diego, and four grandchildren.
