State Aerie Of Eagles To Convene PITTSBURGH, June 8 All arrangements have been com' pleted for the 49th annual convention of the Pennsylvania State Aerie of the Fraternal Order of Eagles to be held in Pittsburgh commencing Friday, June 10, and continuing through Sunday, June 12, according to State Secretary Maurice Splain The convention will attract eral thousand delegates to Pittsburgh and will be headquartered at Hotel Roosevelt, Mayor Joseph M. Barr and County Commissioner John -McGrady, both long-time Eagles, will officially welcome the delegates at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The principal speaker at the convention will be Governor David L. Lawrence who helped to organize the Pennsylvania State Aerie in Pittsburgh in 1912 where the State Aerie convention was' held.

Other featured speakers are former Governor John S. Fine; Daniel B. Swaney, member of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board; Robert F. Kent, state treasurer of Pennsylvania and J. Philip Bigley of Viroqua, Wisconsin, grand worthy president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

4-H Clubs Harmony Hustlers The second meeting of the Harmony Hustlers 4-H Club of Neilltown was held at the home ol Maxine and Richard Chapman, Wednesday night, June 1, at 8 o'clock. There were seven members and the county agent present. The meeting was opened with the club pledge led by Darryl Peterson. We elected the following officers: Richard Chapman, president; John Homer, vice president; Eileen Peterson, secretary-treasurer; Graydon Thomas, song leader; Patty Hanlon, game leader, and Edna Fenton, news reporter. yesterday. He was born at Tionesta June 16, 1883, the son of Stephen and Elizabeth Hepler Johnston. A carpenter by trade, Mr. Johnston was a member of 'the West Hickory Methodist Church. He married the former Sarah B.

McMichael, who survives, along with the following children: David Johnston of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Gertrude Osten of Tidioute, RD 2, Stephen Johnston Jr. at the Kincheloe Air Force Base, and Mrs. Mary Lou of Tionesta; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and one brother, Harvey Johnston of Tionesta. Mrs.

William Wheeler Mrs. Loretta Wheeler, 69, of 1050 Bay Road, Webster, Westmoreland County, died June 5 in Northside Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a two-month illness. Mrs. Wheeler, wife of William Wheeler, a retired auto repairman, was the organizer and first president of the St. Rita's Society and the St.

Rita's Garden Club in Webster. She was a member of the Monroe County Hook Rue Guild. Mrs. Wheeler was born in Titus- vilJe and went to Webster with her husband in 1924. They celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary last January.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Wheeler leaves four sons, Robert of Holcomb, Richard of Webster, William Joseph of Madison, and James of Webster; three daughters, Mrs. Calvin Richards', Mrs. Harold Hargarther and Mrs. Matthew Murowski of Webster; three sisters, Mrs.

Leon Come and Mrs. Laurence Reynolds of Titusville and Mrs. Harry McFadden of Erie, a brother, Clarence Tuck of Titusville; 24 grandchildren and, a great-grandchild. The funeral service was held yesterday in St. Rita's Church.

"Jack" Straub of Rouseville has been named one of Venango County's two, assistant highway maintenance superintendents. An employe of the department for the past four years, he replaces William Hoffman of Jackson Township who resigned Tuesday and has taken a position with an out- of-state contractor. Mr. Hoffman was a candidate for the Venango County Democratic chairmanship and was defeated by Paul Steffee of Rouseville, 107 to 37. Parking Lot auto backed into a parked car about 7 a.

m. yesterday in the Quality Cash portion of the municipal parking lot. Police said that William L. McNamara of Tonawanda, N. backed his 1959 Buick sedan out of a parking space into the rear of a 1960 Chevrolet sedan.

The owner of the Chevrolet was not learned, but a note was left on the car giving Mr. McNamara's name and address. FUNERALS Harry M. Rhodes The funeral service for Harry M. Rhodes was held yesterday at the Peterson Funeral Home with Rev. Lloyd Chelton, pastor of the Hydetown Methodist Church, officiating. Troy Center TROY CENTER, June 8 Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Prather and Miss Marie Prather of Meadville spent the weekend with Mr.

and Mrs. Donald Childs and son at Rochester, N. Y. Mr. Childs is school counselor of the Rochester School and Mrs.

Childs is employed in the library. Friends of Lawrence Harvey are sorry to hear h- is a surgical patient at the Meadville City Hospital. Mrs. Zella Proper is a surgical patient -at the Titusville Hospital. Her many friends hope for a speedy recove y.

Several granges are sponsoring polio shots for all who wish them. A charge of 85 cents will be charged to all who can afford to pay. The shots will be given at the Troy Center Grange Hall on Saturday afternoon from 1:30 until 4:30 o'clock. A doctor and two nurses will on 'hand. Bridge Reopened The State Highway Department yesterday re-opened a bridge over the Clarion River, between Jefferson and Forest counties, which had been closed for repairs since May 26.
