Xaugg, USN, son of the- Cornelius E. Zauggs, Algona, participated in the landing of Marine and equipment during an amphibious assault operation as .1 crewmemher aboard the amphibious force flagship Eldorado. The opc'ration, code-named "Rear Bite", took place in the Quang Tri and Thua Tien Provinces, the northernmost provinces of South Vietnam. Prior to the landing, fast navy patrol boats went inshore to clear the landing area of, junks and sampans, then remained nearby to block possible enemy infiltration by sea. AT SERVICE SCHOOL FT.
