THE TIMES "Hometown Newspaper For Brookshire and Katy, Texas- September 22, 1955 Children Injured In Local Accident Patrolman Chester Arrington had a fairly busy weekend in this area. The reports of the following accidents are according to Patrolman Arrington. An accident occurred Sunday at 9:25 a.m. on the Katy-Hockley road at Clay road. According to the reports, Lonnie W.

Cullins was driving south on the Katy- Hockley road in a '55 Chevrolet when Archie V. Vaughan, driving a '51 Ford turned onto the blacktop from Clay Rd. Cullins was unable to avoid hitting the rear of the Vaughan car. Cullins was taking a lady and her three children to the bus station. Vanessa Kelley, six months old girl received possible major head injuries and Russel Kay Kelley, 5 yrs.

According to Lyons, he was coming from Brookshire and met a car in the center of the road. He left the road on the right shoulder and then crossed the road and turned over in the ditch. There was extensive damage to the car and Lyons received minor injuries.

A 1948 Chevrolet driven by Charlie V. Brunkenhaefer, night watchman for Brookshire, and a 1953 Ford, driven by Viola Dodd of Columbus were involved in an accident. Brunken- haefer had slowed down to make a turn near the Brazos River Bridge and the lady hit the back of his car. There was extensive damage to her car with minor damage to his. te.

P. M. Kelleys Injured In Auto Accident The F. M. Kelleys received injuries last week enroute to Huntsville during a rain storm when their car skidded and went out of control.

They were taking Barbara to Sam Houston State Teachers College. The car was demolished when it rammed into a tree on the shoulder. The Kelleys were taken to a Huntsville hospital where they were treated. Mrs. Kelley suffered a fractured vertebrae and was moved to the Methodist Hospital- in Houston Sunday where she will be about two weeks.

Mr. Kelley had a broken collar bone and Barbara had a slight cut on the knee. Mr. Kelley is at home and Barbara was able to begin the first classes at the college. Katy School Faculty Honored by PTA The Katy school faculty was honored by the PTA on Tuesday night, September 13.

The school recreation room was the scene for the occasion, which was an ice cream supper with parents and children invited.
