(AP) Nebraska's top-ranked and un- defeated football juggernauts, aided by a stonewall defense, rolled over Kansas 55-0 Saturday in a Big Eight clash before 68,331, the largest crowd Rodgers boosted his season total to nine touchdowns with a 37-yard scoring catch from Jerry Tagge and a 13-yard sprint from scrimmage. Kinney plunged one yard for one touchdown before registering his 66- i in Memorial Stadium history. So grudging was Nebraska's "blackshirts" defensive'unit that the Jayhawks owned minus total offense yardage at the intermission and did not gain a first down until the third quarter. The Cornhusker offense, meanwhile, tallied two touchdowns in each period, the most spectacular coming on a 66-yard third quarter run from scrimmage by Jeff Kinney.

The victory ran Nebraska's string to 25 games without a loss and dropped Kansas to 3-3 for the year. Johnny Rodgers and Kinney, Nebraska's offensive stalwarts, each scored two touchdowns in the rout. Adams' grasp on a Jeff Hughes' punt and Daryl White recovered on the Kansas 29 to set ihe stage for another TD. Kansas finished with a net loss of 42 yards rushing but gained 98 yards on the passes Jaynes, sophomore quarterback. Jaynes, who started but alternated later with veteran Dan Heck, completed 7-21 but had three picked off.

Tagge completed 10-18 for 108 yards and one touchdown, with one intercepted. Brownson replaced Tagge after Nebraska had run its lead to 35-0, completed 2-7 with two intercepted. Kinney and his alternate, vGary Dixon, led Nebraska rushers with 104 yards apiece. Dixon's total included a one-yard touchdown run in the first period. It was Nebraska's homecoming and participants in half-time ceremonies included television star Johnnny Carson, a Nebraska alumnus.

Bearcats nip Shocker's CINCINNATI (AP) Cincinnati put across three first-half touchdowns then hung on against a tenacious second half effort by the Shockers to defeat Wichita State 20-7 Saturday. It was the fourth win for Cincinnati against two losses. Wichita is 2-3. The Bearcats marched 80 yards after receiving the opening kickoff with fullback Reggie Harrison going around end for four yards to score.

On the exchange, Albert Johnson passed to tight end Gary Jenkins for a 15-yard pass play and Mike Schmitt made his second conversion. Cincinnati linebacker Mike Milliard intercepted Wichita quarterback Rick Baehr's pass on the Shocker 33-yard line, and six plays later tailback Dick James plunged in from two yards. It was the first of two interceptions for Milliard who also blocked a field goal in the third quarter. In the last two minutes of the second quarter, safety Tony Marshall intercepted relief quarterback Kas Oganowski's pass at midfield and the Shockers marched 49 yards In eight plays to score when fullback Randy Jackson plunged five yards through the middle.
