This film could well have been a slamming success. A James Bond send-up had unlimited potential. But the overflow of stars and directors must have caused havoc on the set.

Some of the films effects of colour and sound are memorable, but an embarrassing grain of slapstick runs through it and almost tears apart any effect of "way-outness." Peter Sellers is marvellous as usual as a not-so-smart James Bond in hot pursuit of another 007, delicious Ursula Andress. David Niven plays a stuttering Sir James Bond and is bettered only by Joanna Pettet, his beautiful daughter. The film keeps its promise and is chocK-full of beautiful, talented women. The numerous psychedelic sequences are done well and leave you feeling as if you have just woken from a dream. The 25th Hour" concerns a simple, ox-like Rumanian peasant named Johann Moritz (Anthony Quinn) who is press-ganged into a labour camp for Jews because the local police captain (Gregoire Asian) lusts after his young wife (Virna Lisi). A group of Jews use the simpleton in an escape and then abandons him to become, in turn, a prisoner of the Germans and the Americans. Quinn plays to vacant-faced perfection the bewildered peasant chosen by the uermans as the archetype of the pure Aryan and tried for this crime" by the Americans after the war. Director Henri Veriteiiil has produced a visually exciting film which ranges irom the beauty of the Yugoslavian countryside to the drab, grim interiors of the prison camps.

The only jarrjng note in the film is the caricature performance of Marius Goring as the S.S. colonel responsible for. choosing Quinn as the "perfect German." The final scene where Quinn is reunited with his family after 10 years of heartbreak and frustration is as touching as any you'll ever see. (St. James.) "The Last Of The Secret Agenls!" THIS show is definitely a showcase for the semi-slapstick humour of Marty Allen and Steve Rossi, the American TV and cabaret comics.

Nancy Sinatra sings at both ends of the film and makes a couple of superfluous appearances in it, dawdling on to the screen to demonstrate how badly she affects a French accent. Presumably she spent the A cm.imq 236 Pitt ft. (Heated.) Bookings: 26-5533. Adults Only. 30 4-30' 7-30 ROD STEIGER.

"The Swinger" THE Swinger" is a pre-digested, spun sugar confection about a frustrated writer (Ann-Margret), who desperately wants her work published in a rudey-nudey Los Angeles magazine. The magazine is owned by a lecherous old British knight (Robert Coote) and its editor is slick, suntanned Tony Franciosa.

Franciosa tells an insistent Ann-Margret that her stories are too goodie-goodie so she produces an instant literary smorgasbord of sex, horror and depravity which she finally unloads as her life story. Tony Franciosa belongs in much better movies than this. In fact, the entire cast seemed pretty bored and embarrassed about the whole thing. So were we. (Rapallo.) 7fififlN7flP.PDF.

Bodies galore burnt, strangled, car-battered, poisoned and stabbed litter the set (in Technicolor) as a mad killer sets out to avenge the death of a German industrialist falsely accused of war crimes by wiping out his accusers. Beside each, for no apparent reason, the killer leaves a doll likeness of the victim as a sort of trademark. Paramount's terror-moyie-makers Rosenberg and Sub-otsky make skilful use of light and shade in a bizarre house of dolls to string out the suspense until the bloodbath mercifully comes to a close.
