Floyd Whittemore Asst. State is spending a few days with his parents at Sycamore. James Welsh sold his property in the north west part of the city to James Cambell for $1000. Mr. and Mrs.

James Maitland entertained a company of friends at dinner one evening last week. Miss Mayme Branen is home from Notre Dame spending the spring vacawith her parents. Nra. Harry Mitchell has been dangerously ill since the death of their baby that died last Monday. Min.

Elmer Valentine has been engaged by Win. Farbel, to run his engine nex season. The Misses Helen and Hattie Smith visited the Goble family of South Pawpaw last Friday, Easter Services will be held at the Methodist church of this place next Sanday at 3:30 p. m. A.

Forman and Wm. Hampton report that at least one half of the seed will-not grow this year. West Pawpaw is having, a hot fight over her license question. Baumgardner of that city. The bride, one of our most ing and accomplished young, ladies, is the daughter of Thomas Harper of West Pawpaw. The groom is the BOLl of M. F. Beemer a well to do farmer near Compton.

They will make their future home on a farm near Compton. Only relatives were present at the wedding. The many friends of the happy couple wish them unlimited prosperity. P. Kennedy was a.

E. Scoteld is visiting friends in Chicago this week. Frank Giles came home Friday from school at Beloit, Wis. Edwin Fraser was a Chicago visitor Thursday of last week. Mr.

Arnold from Iowa, is visiting his daughter Mrs. W. Farley. Mrs. Annie Ferris was visiting in An rora and Streator this week.

Miss Verna Ames of Aurora, was the guest of friends over Sanday. Misses Carrie Fuller and Grace Roberts went to Chicago Monday, Miss Jennie Morse visited relatives at Shabbona over the Sabbath, Charlie Dean and daughter Edna spent Saturday with relatives. J. 8 of Wheaton college spending his vacation at home. Miss Edith Weaver of Hinckley, was visiting relattves here last weak.

Mrs Elliott Pritobard is entertaining her mother from Chicago this week. Harry Bradbury and J. S. Kirkpatrick were Chicago visitors on Monday. W.

A. Congdon and John Roberta. went to Chicago with stock Wednesday night. Mr. Newcomb of Evanston, was guest at the home Mrs.

Greenwood last Friday, Miss Mary Faller who is teaching at Dundee is enjoying a week's vacation at botne. Misses Frances Merck and Ida Woods visited friends at Malta several daya this week Rev. O. Yates of the University of Chicago preached at the Baptist church last Sunday. Miss Annie Watson returned to DeKalb Friday where she is sewing for Miss Potter.

Mrs. Carrie Powers of Hinckley was visiting her father, George Martin last Wednesday. Mr. Noe of Sycamore, editor of the De Kalb County Democrat, was in town last Friday. Miss Harriet Brainerd went to her home at Ivanhoe Saturday to spend the week's vacation.

Miss Maggie Beveridge of Sandwich, is the guest of her aunt, Mrs. Ralph Brown this week. Pref, and Mrs. Clark of Hinckley, were visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Highfield enter: tained fourteen young people at their home last Tuesday evening. There will be an apron and necktie social at the home of John Hipple on Friday evening of this week. Bigelow was born in Scipio, April 9, 1886, and died at his home south of Waterman at 11:90 nois in 1854 and January 98, 1850 at p.m. March 98, 1800. He came to Illi- Aurora, Ill, married Eliza A. Chilson, nee Wood. Besides the wife he leaves a brother in Missouri and a brother and sister in Seattle, Washington.

Misses Kate and Nellie MeGarry of De Kalb attended the funeral of Mrs Clarez. Mr. Hennaghan of Chicago and other friands were here to attend the funeral of John Britt. J.W Walmaley beld a sale on Thursday, Mr. Wamaley and family will move to New Jersey.

Mrs Kate Dillen of Missouri who was called here by the death of her mother returned to her home on Friday, Mr and Mra Kennedy of Elva, Mrs Helena Riordan and daughter Julia of Elburn attended the funeral on Monday. John Britt who was struck by an engine while crossing the track last Thursday, died from his injuries on Friday night. He was 78 years of age and had been a resident of this place nearly 50 years. He moved from his farm north east of the town to the village a few years ago. He leaves four children, Henry of Freeport, and Misses Mary, Eliza and Charlotte of this place, The funeral was held on Monday at the Catholio church and many friends from Chicago, Elburn and De Kalb were present.

The funeral of Mrs Catherine Clarey was held on Saturday at the Catholic church, Rev Hartman officiating. It was one of the largest funerals ever held at Maple Park. Deceased was quiet, unassuming, kind hearted lady and posessed the esteem of a.l who knew her. She had- been a resident of this vicinity 48 years. Those from a distance to attend the funeral were: Mr and Butler and daughter Lynch and daughter and Philbin of Chicago; Sullivan of Elgin, Mr and Mrs O'Brien of Afton; Ryan and wife of DeKalb, Mrs Crowe, Mr.

and Mrs Gammon, Mr and Mrs P. McCabe, Mrs Miller, Mr and Mis Crosby, Mrs Flynn and daughter Rose of Elburn.
