He was a professional advisor to the chief of the Bureau of Supplies and Accounts of the U.S. Navy, and dealt with legislation of the armed services in Washington D.C. He graduated from Georgetown University Law School and was a member of the Sun City Lawyers Club. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church of Sun City, the Retired Officer Association and the American Legion. He served in the U.S.

Army during World War I. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise; daughter, Pamela Thiessen, and two gran-children. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the American Lutheran Church, 17200 Del Webb Blvd. Arrangements were by Menke Funeral Home in Sun City.
