Frank Wells, the studio's president since 1973, said he would switch jobs Jan. 1 with Warner Bros, vice chairman and executive vice president Terry Semel, who will continue as the studio's chief operating officer. He said he will continue to work at Warner BrosJ full time when in town, but will spend much of his ; time climbing mountains starting with a three-', month expedition to scale Mount Everest beginning in March. '. Wells said he has had "a lifelong ambition" to try to climb the world's tallest peak, even if it is unlikely he can reach the top. He said his ultimate .' ambition is to scale the tallest mountain of every; continent. The executive, a Rhodes scholar and Stanford Law School graduate, practiced law before joining Warner Bros, in 1969 as a vice president. He said he planned to stay at the studio for the rest of his .; business career, although he is giving up his post as co-chief executive officer. Steven Ross, chairman of Warner Communications, said Wells had decided on his new title and . role in the company so he could be less involved in ; day-to-day management and could pursue his , outside interests "in the public sector and, crazy as it seems to me, mountain climbing. Semel, a former vice president at Walt Disney ; Productions, was hired by Warner Bros, in 1975. He was named chief operating officer in 1978 and last year was also named vice chairman. ; ALL A ALL TIKES US $"T$4 "SUPERMAN Part 2" PG IIIUVUIHIMI UIIV 7 4 "Am uriiun uAi 1 YOU CAM" PG Susan Georqe ENTER W Plus TER THE NINJA (Ft) Roger Moore FOR YfUR EYES ONLY (PG) Dndty BtMotif (Rl i:::::::::;::::::::::::::: ::;;;:;::; GALAXY OF TERROR (R) Also Showing HuimitMiti From TTwOwtoTRI lz..'1;,,,, 'i i r i i'i i I'l'iVn'i'ii Marsha Mason OWLY.
