atrongly identified with the educational life of Danville died last night at 11:30 o'clock at Memorial hospital where she had been ill for the past two months She had been in faUing health in Danville for some time prior to her removal to the Danville institution for treat ment Born in Danville In 1870 Mrs Scales was Mlsa Eliza Williams Taylor be fore marriage being a daughter ot the late Mr and Mrs Albert Tay lor of this city She had lived here most of her life moving to Cascade at the time of her marriage' Mrs Scales: is well remembered for her culture and many of the present adult generation in Danville received instruction from her hands in the Danville public schools She taught here at the old Loyal street school and later in the rebuilt school now known as the Robert Lee school for many years and for nine years she taught school at Cascade She Is survived by her husband also by two sisters Mrs A Carring ton Sr and Mrs Daniel both of this city The funeral will be conducted to morrow afternoon at 2 at Cas cade Presbyterian church of which Mr Seales had long been a member Interment win be made there in the Seales family cemetery ENGLAND DRAPER Miss Mildred Lee
