It earned the distinction of being the first non-Catholic choir to sing in the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, and of being named "Best International Choir" at the Linz (Austria) Centennial Festival in 1970. The choir won first place at the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales in 1968.

Choir members are chosen from a student body of 25,000 at Brigham Young University.
