Marcel Jeanneret, of 1033 Erie st. announce the engagement and also the wedding date of their daughter, Suzanne Edith, to Arthur Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Davis, of Berlin Center.

The marriage will take place Saturday afternoon, at 4, at the parsonage of the Rev. C. W. Zahnow, of 618 Styles Warren, a close friend of the groom. Will Live in Berlin Center The bride will be attended by her sister, Miss Elmira Aimee Jeanneret and the best man will be Arthur B.

Buehler. The bride's gown will be fashioned of slate blue chiffon, with a picture hat to harmonize and.the bridesmaid will wear pink chiffon, thi; hat to match. A wedding supper will be served at the home of the groom's parents for the families and guests. The young couple will go to housekeeping in a newly furnished house in Berlin Center. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS The annual May party of the Knights of Columbus was held Thursday evening in the club rooms.

Cards were played in the parlors and dancing was enjoyed in the ballroom. Engelhart's orchestr played for the dancing. Prizes at 500 were won by Mr. and Mrs. W.

A. Sonnhalter and those at bridge by Miss Therese Brentzel and H. L. Vogt. Refreshments were served during intermission.

All Knights of Columbus members have been invited to attend the state convention and ball at East Market Gardens, Akron. Tickets may be secured from L. A. Wolf. The affair will take place Monday, May 12.

A. Portz was in charge of scripture reading and prayer and Mrs. Robert Herman the topic, "Martha, the Woman of Many Cares." Mrs. Ernest Johnson told a Russian story, "The Courier of the Czar" and Mrs. Edith Albrechb and Mrs.

F. B. Hax played several piano duets. One new member was taken in. Final plans were made for the mother-daughter banquet to be held Friday evening, May 9.

Mrs. Florence Johns is chairman of the' program committee. A rummage sale will be held May 16 and 17 with Mrs. Otto Bonk in charge. A social hour was enjoyed in the basement and refreshments were served.

Hostesses were Mrs. Johns, chairman, Mrs. Louis Maier, Mrs. Ralph Klotz, Mrs. Paul Crone, Mrs.

Howard Jones and Mrs. F. M. Lose. BROOKSIDE COUNTRY CLUB A lobster dinner was served Wednesday evening at the Brookside Country club with 50 guests present.

A number of small parties were entertained. The -weekly chicken and waffle dinner was served Thursday evening to a number of guests. LADIES OF THE G. A. R.

The Ladies of the G. A. R. held a regular meeting, Thursday evening, with 30 members and a number. of visitors from Col.

Searls Circle, Ladies of the G. A. R. of Canton present. Three, candidates were initiated.

After the meeting a social session with refreshments was enjoyed. LOYAL COUNCIL Sixty members of Loyal Council attended a meeting held Thursday evening, when important business was transacted and final plans made to attend a rally at Youngstown on May 8. Members of the degree team have chartered a bus and those going are asked to meet at the N. O. P.

The degree will be conferred at the Knights of Malta E. Tuscarawas st, Canton, Saturday evening, at 8, by the-degree team of Old Glory Commandery. AID MEETING THURSDAY The May meeting of the Ladies' Aid society of the First Reformed church was held Thursday afternoon, at the church with 45 members present.

Plans were made lor the mother-daughter banquet to be held May 9 which will be in the form of a covered dish dinner, and for establishing a flower fund for the coming year. Mrs. E. Emig, Mrs. Ralph Sutton, Mrs.

Kutschbach, Mrs. Charles Berg, Mrs. Slinger and Mrs. Clarence Shanklin comprised the hostess committee. 137 ATTEND G. F. S. DINNER AND MEETING A regional meeting of the Girls' Friendly society was held Thursday evening, at the parish house of St. Timothy's Episcopal church.

Dinner was served at 6 o'clock to 137 members and guests, the guests coming from Cuyahoga Falls, Akron and Canton. A play, "The Friendly Garden" was given by the candidates class of the G. F. S. which told the phases of the G.

F. S. history and work. Jane Chidester who represented "every girl" and Jerry Krayer, "the G. F.

S. girl" took the leading parts. Speaks on Summer Conference The Rev. J. R.

Stalker gave a talk on the annual summer church conference of the fifth province held at Gambier. This year it will be held from June 23 to July 4. Miss Jane Hunscher, of Gates Mills, diocesian secretary of the G. S. also gave a talk on the G.

F. S. Holiday House at Mentor on the Beach and urged members to take advantage of it. Miss Hunscher also announced a dio- cesian regional meeting to be held at Trinity Cathedral, Cleveland, Saturday, May 10. Mrs.

J. R. Stalker presided during a business meeting and called for a report from representatives of of the work their society had done during the year. Miss Hunscher was an over night guest of Mr. and Mrs.

Stalker at the rectory in 3rd st. SE and went this morning, to East Liverpool. EVENING CLUB MEETS Mrs. H. M.

Christman had as her guests Thursday evening the members of her evening club, when TOO was played. Mrs. William Greisheimer was the winner of a prize for highest score. Refreshments were served. Mrs.

C. J. Eschliman, of 19th st. NW, will entertain the club in two weeks. AID SOCIETY MEETS Members of the Ladies' Aid society of the Central Presbyterian church held their monthly meeting, Thursday afternoon, isi the church parlors.

Annual reports were given by the treasurer and secretary. Arrangements were made for the mother-daughter banquet to be held Friday evening, May 9. The men of the church will cook and serve the dinner. Sewing was done for the missionary society. GIVES MONTHLY LUNCHEON Nine members front attended a monthly luncheon Thursday, given by the Wheeling and Lake Erie Veterans association'at La Porte Ouverte, Canton.

Luncheon was served at 12:30 and cards and a business meeting followed afterwards. The June luncheon will be held at the same place. There were 35 present. SURPRISED ON BIRTHDAY A party of friends of Frank Zill pleasantly surprised him at his residence in State ave. NE, Thursday evening, in honor of his birthday anniversary, five hundred was a diversion, four tables being occupied.

Prizes were captured by William Klein, Mrs. Howard Moseley, Mrs. John Cameron and Albert Fischer. After the games refreshments were served. Mr.

Zill was presented with a shirt and tie. SENIOR CLASS HONORED AT DINNER DANCE The annual dinner and dance given by the junior class of Mt. Marie, at which members of the senior class are guests of honor, was given Thursday evening at the school, the guests numbering 76. Dinner was served in the dining room, the tables being arranged in the form of a wheel. The center table serving as the hub of the wheel was a mass of spring flowers, orchid and green shades prevailing.

The junior class prophecy was read and the senior class will in which it bequeaths many interesting things to the juniors, both of which caused much amusement.
